  1. Was enjoying a day off of video games and coffee and opened up twitter. I love the guy and player. I think he’s gonna give’r for the Canucks. Hopefully the back end of the deal is all good.
  2. Sure. Creating cap room/contract efficiency would be good. But I think Hoagie warrants a long look. Im not saying hes going to turn into the next Marchand but boy does he remind me of him. Good hands and slippery. Id give him at least 2-3 years and see how he develops.
  3. Save for Chaisson, man what a time for any of those guys to have to PTO. Personally Id like to see what Rodriguez can do/maybe be a placeholder for a future JTM move
  4. On their own I agree. Ive stated a lot elsewhere that Miller was the catalyst for that line. Im ‘hoping’ IM can be that for those two. Alot of it will also depend on EP/BB taking that next step too
  5. I dont know about that. He’s a very capable defensemen. I really want to see how he does under a Boudreau system. But if he’s not good to go he might end up on LTIR anyways so force a trade/give up a really good player in Hoglander? Speaking of which, cant believe how quickly people are giving up on this kid-he’s got a ton of upside.
  6. Pretty close to what Id roll with. Mikheyev Petey Boeser Pearson Miller Garland Podz Horvat Kuz
  7. Just guessing but my hunch is that Canucks want an NHL ready young player of positional need (C/RD) and that’s why they are waiting for the right offer to come along. I do think it would be OK tho if the acquired longer term futures if they cant pry loose what they want. 1st and a young (C/D) prospect would be fine with me.
  8. This year is going to be really interesting as far as Petey goes….can he show he can become a true #1 C? 2011 era team did so well because the Sedins were true game breakers & the team had good depth. Demko is a game breaker Id say and I think Hughes has potential. If the Canucks lose Miller then a lot of the late game offensive needs fall on Petey. Not to mention the PP. The rest of the roster is supplementary.
  9. I predicted something similar would happen with Jake before his trial. Once he hits rock bottom he’ll finally understand just how serious he needs to approach his career. And the Oilers will probably reap the benefits.
  10. Joe Sakic was all in on Lehkonen. Its been reported that the Avs were only willing to part with Baron, but Sakic added the pick to get the deal done bc Lehkonen was his guy. And like when the Canucks traded for Miller, they are getting AL at the right time. 14 points in 20 playoff games, and 2 huge goals. Maybe COL wants Miller I hope they do. But trying to get anything out of that org seems like a headache followed by a crushing migrane. Newhook and a 1st would be nice though.
  11. I much rather they bring back Lammikko. I miss him already
  12. Fair points if any of the teams want to add a true X factor in Miller. I do think if CAR wants to make a run at it their time is now. VAN can only hope. As for Sakic, MacFarland still has to make his case to him. Avs showed by adding Lehkonen/Manson they can win a cup with their roster. If they cant fill the void left by Kadri then maybe they step up but Im not sure. I view Newhook/Byram as core pieces for them going forward.
  13. That was NYR offer for 2 playoff runs though. I dont think it’s necessarily silly to think that offer might not be available now. Additionally, the Canucks reportedly didn’t even want that deal/ preferred Schneider at the last year’s TDL and NYR wasnt willing to do it then. Sakic and Waddell are as shrewd as they come. Everyone knows that rentals dont always pan out/make a huge impact-so why give up the farm? Both teams made conservative TDL deals last year-I suspect more of the same. Thanks for the clarification. There goes that idea
  14. im skeptical. we’ve seen GMs are loathe to give their team’s prime significant futures for rentals, even at the TDL. Miller could have been dealt for at last year’s TDL for 2 playoff runs and nobody stepped up and made a must do deal. My guess is a late 1st and a top young player/prospect is now the fair deal to be made. Add conditional picks if he re-signs. If the Canucks get lucky and there is in fact a bidding war where an extra piece is added by a bidding team then great. I would much rather not risk/wait till then tho. The Canucks curse is real and I can sense the black magic and foul stench of it already. JR has stated a month before TDL fans should start to worry-I would hope he gets moved before the roster freeze. Heck if there is a deal to be made now then do it and sign rodriguez for below market value if possible.
  15. Havnt played in 4 years-are RHD in EASHL as coveted as in the pros?
