  1. I wish they could hand out 2 Stanley Cups this year.

FLA having a monster playoff run.  VGK just flat out good.  Gonna be a great final.

1994 and 2011 would be better years. ;)

I wish both teams were disqualified so no one wins.

  2. Word on the streets is Logan Stanley is looking to get out of WPG due to a lack of consistent playing time. So fair to say if the Canucks could acquire him he would be one of those reclamation projects-could Foote be the mentor he needs? Could he be a fit? He definitely is one of the meaner players in the NHL which the Canucks could use. A trade w Chevy never seems easy-what would it take I wonder? Might also necessitate some moves on the Canucks roster first so feel free to discuss.
  3. Surprise surprise, Silovs has a good stretch and people want to skip development steps/rush him into the NHL.
  4. lol OP definitely has the right idea-this team desperately needs someone that can be nasty. I wonder what WPG plans to do w Stanley. Maybe Foote can be a great mentor for him. He’s one of the mean ones.
  5. dang it I dont know the player. better be worth my hoagie
  6. yeah Ill be curious when Danielson does get picked. mock drafts have him all over the place. very curious when Barlow/Wallinder get selected as well.
  7. Ive just never been a fan of shaking up the roster at the TDL especially if theyre winning. historically, it seems like the conservative management types have a hard time doing that as well. imo if you can, move your pending free agents sooner rather than later even though cap wise its much easier to do at the TDL. So for me, Myers and Beauvillier should be on the move, preferably before x mas roster freeze
  8. kudos and im not saying he stays there all year or someone like Podz shows up and just blows the doors off at training camp/takes that spot (that would be great). However, my gut tells me sees an opportunity to be a finally be a full time NHLr and comes in and works his tail off.
  9. it would be quite lucky if he dropped, assuming canucks trade for 19 Would probably need someone like Ritchie/Gulyayev etc to get taken ahead
  10. Take a look at Danielson. I think it’s possible he is available at #19 (if the Canucks pass/can’t take Wallinder for example). I like a lot of the traits he has.
  11. The fact you said he is a depth/fringe player REGARDLESS of how well he plays says a lot more about your take than mine. If he proves he can play that “legit” speaks for itself
  12. Assuming Bear is re-signed, I can imagine Myers playing in a third pair role w some PK duty. That’s not a huge role so I can see the Canucks shaking up the roster later in the season and not being too affected by it (unless Myers has this wild contract year season). But if the chaos giraffe we know is playing regular minutes, Im not sure how that helps settle down the defence group.
  13. Some people argue that the Canucks should hang onto Myers and flip him at the TDL. What is your take on that? Im of the mind that soon to be UFAs should be dealt sooner rather than later (especially if they are not being re-signed).
  14. Could be temporary. Yet he played his role to a T and Miller/Boeser benefited from his forecheck/disruptiveness/puck pursuit. It’s not like he has poor pedigree either (38th OA)-he has decent hands. Not that where are drafted truly matters. and at age 29 perhaps both he and Tocchett see a guy willing to put it all on the line in the prime of his career. If he continues his good play from last season I see no reason to not give him the opportunity
  15. And yet Tocchett elevetaed him into that role. Are you saying Tocchett is a poor judge of talent?
  16. or perhaps underrated by those who don’t understand the role he plays, and plays it to a T
  17. imo the canucks should probably move on from all three but in the short term my hunch tells me Boeser will have a better year next year if he really dedicates himself in the off season
  18. I was OK w trading back before the CHI idea came up if it meant gaining an extra pick. I could see guys like Danielson & Wallinder being available. If the Canucks scouting staff have them rated high, moving down would be a great way to add more assets.
  19. I wonder if the Canucks could snag Danielson at #19-I like his potential
  20. Report says “a bad contract” and people think CHI are going to take 3 contracts back….wow
