  1. Today, I will be resigning from my position as GM of the Detroit Red Wings. I want to thank @Nail for all the work he put into running this league. Thank you to all GM's for making this a fun experience, it's been a blast. When all real-life sports were cancelled, this gave me reason to be part of the game I love in some capacity and I am thankful for being part of this. I wish you guys success in the future as @Patrick Kane takes over.

  12. Yesterday, the Detroit Red Wings made a big decision that will no doubt define the course of our future. After 2 disappointing 1st round exits in the past 2 seasons, management took a step back to evaluate where this team was, and more importantly, where it was going. The decision to trade one of the best players in the league was not easy but as the old adage goes: "This pain will make us stronger." We came to the unanimous decision to that it was no longer viable to stay competitive by signing FA's year after year and trading picks for rentals. With virtually no players in the minors, we knew it was time to strengthen our team in different ways. To our fans, we know this decision is tough and definitely raised a few eyebrows, but come the end of this we will be stronger and more competitive. It takes a strong will to keep going but the will is just as strong in those who are able to admit their time is over and change is needed. We would like to thank @Blue Jay 22 for a patient and respectful negotiating process and wish him the best of luck with Datsyuk and IK leading the lines. We are thankful for our past and optimistic for our future. xoxo, quacks
