Karlsson, Erik D 32 $11,500,000NMC$11,500,000NMC$11,500,000NMC$11,500,000NMC$11,500,000NMCIn the summer, we trade for Karlsson, $46 mil for 4 years total.
A two time Norris winner and possible win Norris again this year. top 5 RHD in the league.
Sharks get Canucks 1st round draft of 2024, Myers $6 mil, Poolman $2.5 milx2, Garland $5 milx3 =total $26 mil.
They will have a very good cap room for rebuild.
Canucks will have $13.5 mil room after trade away these 3 players. It is easy to absorb Karlsson's contract.
-- I doubt OEL will want to move due to his NMC.
He's a horrible defenceman

lol the fact that they didn't even shop around the islander offers to give any other team a chance to do better is a big fail already.. u think the islander offer was sooooooooooo good that no team can even come close to matching it?

Lol and a cap dump. Beauvillier is a cap dump however way u want to look at it. It’s not being unrealistic.. it’s the crap spewed out by the current management not looking to rebuild etc etc etc wanting 3 players and not draft pick etc etc everything about this prolly won’t make an impact for anyother 4-5 years. It’s pretty weak return when u have to take on Beauvillier as a cap dump at 4+ mil for his projected 30 points.. that 1st should have at least been unprotected..
If you think you coulda done better than apply for the position

How does a on pace 45-50 goal scorer get a 3rd liner, a B+ prospect, and a middling 1st?
Because he's a UFA

I don't think I have to say it, but we've just traded the best trading chip we've had in arguably decades for, yet again, two forwards and a pick - no defencemen. This management seem to not care at all about fixing the holes on this D and it is the reason we're bombing out of the playoffs.
Value-wise, we get a mid-round first which is probably the key here (and difference compared to other teams' packages I'm assuming), Raty who's a big, strong but relatively unproven center (0.5 PPG in the AHL as a 20 year old), and a pretty average 25 year old winger in Beauvillier who's on a 4.1M cap hit for two years (must have been almost a cap dump by NYI, masked as a hockey trade).
In my books Allvin got fleeced here, this is basically Raty + 1st + bit of a cap dump (almost like sending something between Garland and Pearson the other way) for a 60 goal scoring top center.
My judgement is made up about this management, they've failed us. They may be able to turn around and flip Boeser or Garland for a defenceman but I just don't see it happening.
Hes a UFA of coarse you forgot to mention that

Just now, wai_lai416 said:For the most sought after ufa in the trade market. Does nothing to help with the so call retool JR said he wanted. This trade makes the Canuck better within 2-3 years? Prolly not. Gained almost no cap space out of it either. So how they expect to sell EP the future? 4-5 years from now?
A 1st round pick and a young center in Raty, I think your unrealistic return for a UFA is THE PROBLEM

The draft pick better be good because they didn't get equal value! I suppose they mostly did this because they couldn't afford a new deal for him because of their
current cap structure. Having said that; If Horvat's ask really was higher then Miller's and a similar term, they couldn't do it.
remember its a rental, high price to pay if Bo signs somewhere else

And why would the Avs trade Byram for a rental?
Y'all are funny - this isn't NHL 23. If you guys want to live in your own world - go ahead.
could be a sign and trade or Avs do an extension prior to trade, with Maker it may be hard for the Avs to sign Byram. And if you don't like our little world then F#$k Off, you don't need to be here

Actually I don't spend alot of time on these things, Im to busy enjoying semi retirement at 53 while managing my many businesses. Doesn't sting at all. Your right about the education thing I didn't graduate

Horvat, Boeser, Podkolzin and Mikheyev. Kuzy looks like a top 6 player and Höglander can easily play in the top 9 so we have an abundance of good wingers. One of them will surely be moved next summer…
Yup probably Brock

He’ll still be RFA next summer. Winnipeg can wait to make a deal.
Well the longer they wait the more value they will loose. First reasonable deal that comes long you ship that man out

Sure, but why wouldn’t Miller just sign a seven year deal July 1, 2023 for 50-60 million?
What if he has a bad season or gets hurt? That is taking a chance for sure

Well McDavid has 4 yrs X 12.5 remain. I think #97 will leave Edmonton as a UFA that is different then a untouchable..
McDavid will be 29 UFA and will want to go to a contender...
Or he can say I just want out of Edm anytime and they will have to move him

There are untradeables... Yes I know # 99 got traded but there was lots going on in Edmonton at the time..
We'll just agree to disagree ok. I would bet McDick will be traded and will not be in Edm until he retires

[Speculation] Milan Lucic and the Canucks. Should they consider him?
