  1. I'm really excited to see how Bo does tonight, points are a bonus. I want to see a strong game on face offs, pick battles and defense
  2. Very pleased to hear about the conditioning stint. I'll be excited to see how he does in Utica.
  3. Probably won't take much, like 3 Games and 0 points. Lol
  4. Great to see Gaunce having a strong start in the A. Great to get that confidence up early.
  5. I'm positive a ncaa student cannot accept any gifts from sponsors, alumni etc. I would be shocked if the Canucks did not fall into that category.
  6. Having Bo for face offs is even more important now with the increase distance between the hash marks this year. Centremen are going to be relied on more for a clean win this year
  7. Was anyone else impressed with Horvats speed last night. Now that he isn't pacing himself, he looks faster and more aggressive in the forecheck. I was impressed.
  8. He also snapped a real nice low hard shot through a screen he forced on a defenceman. It was a solid scoring chance. I think he's ready, he can hold his own and he'll only get better from here. Conditioning seems to be there too.
  9. He did ok with what he had last year after a crappy start. I expect some good hockey out of Utica this year.
  10. Gaunce has improved his first few strides from what I've seen. Last year, it was an area of needed improvement. This year it's not great, but it's adequate. That said his IQ and positioning is fantastic and it makes up for that deficiency. Once he gets passed those couple strides, he's actually pretty quick, and a freight train to boot.
  11. Tough game for Horvat, did a lot of things right, but wasn't dominant.
  12. Maybe a young Nash, but now he's slow and plays small
  13. Highly unlikely, he may skate some drills but that's about it.
  14. Agreed, he'll probably skate with the team, but no contact.
  15. I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but to this point I haven't been enormously impressed with mcdavid either. We will see if that changes this year.
  16. True, still needs to play, but even if it's fourth line and 10mins a game. It's better than junior when you add in all the other intangibles. And those tht say top line juniors are better than NHL fourth liners, give me a break. Most top line juniors, maybe except the very elite, would have a heck of a challenge against NHL 4th line players. You have to remember most 4th liners players were very strong if not dominant in the juniors as well.
  17. I was thinking more of a John Leclair
  18. probably because he would be a 14th forward on our depth chart, I don't see him being a bigger contributor to the team than any if our current 12/13 players
  19. What if they resign from the chl?
  20. There was a thread not too long ago that covered the rules around players for chl/ahl/nhl. In the document it mentioned that a player under the age of 20 can sign an amatuer tryout with the ahl. Meaning that you can play in the ahl under 20, maybe this wouldn't work for Horvat though as he is under contract with the Canucks
  21. You can only pull from junior on an emergency basis, after the ahl has been exhausted. Once pulled I think they have to stay. Not sure in that though.
