  1. You realize the canucks are playing edmonton next, right?
  2. Yes because he would tear this team apart with his me me me, it's all about me, attitude.
  3. Some interesting points you make here. One: was it really a slash by Hanzal on Santorelli? Is that really what you saw, a slash? And people like you complain about the reffing? Maybe have one more look at that 'slash'. Second: "And he should be suspended for crosschecking Booth to the face/head. But he won't", it must be nice to know the future. If he gets suspended would you then say that it once and for all disproves your claim of NHL's bias and inconsistency? Will you?
  4. A self centered prick with an oversize ego does not make a great captain.
  5. and have a pompous asshole as the team captain?? That would be some step forward!!
  6. Hockey is one team against another. The difference between December and now is not the Canucks, they did not forget how to play, it is the opposition. Now they play Calgary and Edmonton and they will win and people will say, that's the team we love. If we still had the same division as the last few years, everything would be fine, the Canucks love playing Calgary and Edmonton.
  7. Of course they will beat Calgary, the Canucks are still way better than Calgary.
  8. The first post said: "I would love to see you, or any of the multitude of people whining about the referees actually referee a hockey game", and your astute response is to mock the poster by suggesting that he said he reffed an NHL game? If you want to really discuss, then don't twist around what people write to make it sound like they are stupid, that is NOT discussing.
  9. Canucks should have the right to choose the ref.
  10. Your too hung up on those details the league force feeds you. The point is, you don't win in the playoffs unless you are a tough team. Who do you want as a leader going into the playoffs: Sestito or H. Sedin? Enough said.
  11. Who cares about the stupid letter, it's clear that Sestito now runs and leads this team.
  12. It was not as great a moral victory as monday but the canucks did make a statement in the third that they won't be messed with anymore. It takes some time to become a tough team. Now they have the toughest player in the league and the others are following his lead. I mean look at much more room the Sedins have already.
  13. The team definitly missed Booth and it's great to see him healthy again. As we get our players back, the team will get better. Look at the difference Edler makes. Bieksa said it in an interview yesterday, the players know they can beat ANYONE in this league, all they have to do is decide to do that. But having players back from injury sure helps.
  14. Exactly, we need the european refs! I mean we have the european players, why don't we have their refs? The current NHL refs are incompetent. Don't tell me that there are no competent refs in the world. We just have to go and get them.
  15. Who cares about the 2 points, the players don't. It's about respect. Nobody messes with the Canucks anymore. Move aside Sedins, this is now Sestito's team, he's driving the bus and everybody better watch out.
  16. A first step, while necessary, is only a first step. Now let's see what happens tonight. The Sedins have been mugged for 13 years, I think it is premature to say that this is over after one game. Once the Canucks have established themselves as a tough team, and that will take some time, then they will have to become a tough team that can win- lots of tough losers out there.
  17. The thing is when you push back like the Canucks did, the opponent changes their plan. Did you see how much open ice the Sedins had last night? The Kings were obviously scared to come close to them all night and see what happens then? They go back to being the most dangerous offensive players in the NHL. So funny to see rats like Greene and Mitchell scared and running to the bench as fast as possible. Did you see how Greene wanted nothing to do with Bieksa? There is not one brave player on that LA KIngs line up. No wonder they are in third place.
  18. Exactly, they made a team statement. The statement was that we won't be pushed around. Some people may have preferred if they had made the statement that they can actually win a game against LA but obviously most fans on here agree that this is not realistic and are very happy with the statement that was made.
  19. Indeed, forget the standings, great moral victory. Now let's get another moral victory in Anaheim to make it a perfect California trip. Wasn't it great to see how pumped Kesler was in his interview after the game. I think the interviewer asking three times about actually losing the game and every time Kesler set him straight- this was a victory to us, we dominated them, in our minds we are winners. In reality, this is the perfect outcomes: LA is happy to have won the game and the Canucks are happy to have won the 'moral' game.
  20. He gets paid whether he plays or not. So he is making about $55,000 tonight.
  21. It is a well known fact that no team can beat the Canucks byt the ref team. I am just curious, what is the true Canucks record this year after yesterday's 5-2 win? Have we lost one yet?
  22. Oh for sure. How many goals does Burrows have this year? Plus his defence. And same with Edler. Big difference.
  23. People keep talking about the playoffs. Does anyone really believe this team can winn 4 out of 7 against Chicago or Anaheim or LA or St Louis? What is the goal here? Getting in the playoffs because you never know what can happen? Well, people should know what will happen.
  24. well I would not say it's completely the refs' fault but say 90% their fault?
  25. 2 points in the last 2 games against powerhouse teams, that is a serious accomplishment with all the injuries the Canucks have.
