  1. But then what is left for an excuse if not the injuries?
  2. the team is decimated by injuries, nobody can win with this many injuries to so many all stars. Sure Pittsburgh lost Orpik, Martin, Letang, Dupuis, Neal and Malkin for a stretch but overall that doesn't truly compare to what we lost.
  3. I am not convinced that the Canucks would come out ahead in a chippy, dirty series. Remember the much less talented but chippy and dirty Bruins?
  4. I know, Cherry knows hockey and he said many times that Bieksa is the stud
  5. and what would be the point of that exactly?? Scare the LA Kings for the next time we meet them? Yes, that will work for sure.
  6. Someone making $5 mil a year for the next five years yelling at someone making $5 mil a year for the next five years- oh yes, i'm sure they both really give a crap about every single goal scored.
  7. He wanted to change the game so he picked on the biggest, nastiest heavyweight in the league and beat him up. I bet you Boyle is concussed now, did you see how shaky he was after the fight. You will never ever see Bieksa take on Lucic or Chara, these are skill guys, he goes after the heavyweights.
  8. what more can we want? canucks out play, out chance, and out shoot Rangers, Sestito and Bieksa destroy their opponents, i bet Dorsett and Boyle are now concussed, they both looked groggy to me after the trashing they took. this game is a MAJOR moral victory, the kind that will send the canucks on a prolonged winning streak starting tomorrow.
  9. For sure, Boyle is a known fighter, so again it's not like Bieksa takes on someone who is not know to be a fighter.
  10. All I'm saying is that it is not like he is a shining light in this mess. He is now worse or better than the other 'stars' on the team. Kelser's man scores the tying and winning goals It would be nice if Luongo had bailed out Kelser on one of those two mistakes he made. But he didn't.
  11. if the canucks score 1 Luongo gives up 2, if they score 2 he gives up 3. What is so fantastic about that. If the canucks averaged 4 goals a game his GAA would be about 5. What saves his GAA is that the Canucks can't score.
  12. what people don't seem to realize is that this is the NHL-- 82 games and all you want is the 2 points as often as possible, not going all out every night. A BIG part of Luongo's low GAA is that the Canucks do not score. How is that? Well if the Canucks score 1 goal then 2 is enough to win and that is most good teams go for: just enough to get the 2 points and move on to the next game. After the Blackhawks got their second goal last night, they didn't try to score anymore, they just killed the rest of the game. If the Canucks had a 2 goal lead, then Chicago would have gone for 3. But there was no need for that. So let's not go crazy with how good Luongo is, he is just bad enough for the team to have 13 losses in 25 games. If the canucks scored more, his GAA would be higher, no doubt about that. The Canucks have 65 goals for and 65 against. If they had scored 75, they would have given up 75.
  13. Key word here is WISH. Reality is, MG has an abysmal record at the raft table. Look at the impact of Hertl on SJ. Here we wish!
  14. He has not been on his game since the Keith hit.
  15. Yes but we killed Columbus, that has to mean something.
  16. OK well i was not thinking about him. But you have to admit Roy has a lot of good young talent to work with there.
  17. Can you imagine where this team would be without Torterella? Coach of the year at this stage of the season, no doubt.
  18. The shame of this is that the Canucks are not making a move with all their players available. They have no injuries now. That won't last. Colorado just lost Duchesne. Every team has injuries (Tampa), so you try to get up in the standings when everyone is there and stay afloat when you are short. What will happen when Kesler or Higgins or Hamhuis goes down?
  19. Exactly. And there is the denial. Daniel has just not been the same since the Keith hit.
  20. First part, nobody will ever know for sure. Second part is obvious and clearly a key determinant, has to be.
  21. You have to understand the thinking of a 21 year old. It's not a reflection on the Canucks organization. As a 21 year old, would you prefer to join a group full of other early 20`s, who hang out together, share apartments, goof together in the dressing room.. or a group of mostly veterans who have families, nice guys, but a different generation, you know, the sedins, hamhuis, bieksa, salo, malhotra, burrows, higgins..I mean the bulk of the team is veterans. There is no way it`s the same dynamics in both rooms.
