  1. Already thought about it lol. They're placeholders for the time being. Been reports that state as such and that ownership is looking for a long-term team. Hard to find candidates for GM this early.
  2. Not necessarily. The next step is roster assessment. We need to see how the team can perform under a new and experienced coach. If we still can't have any sort of success with a new and experienced coach then we know the roster makeup as it is, isn't cut out for success and we'll have reconstruct the roster as a whole which likely means a short rebuild. We have enough young assets as it is that we'd just need a quick one. Pretty much to clear cap, bring in young assets and begin roster reconstruction.
  3. Oh yeah forgot about Halak. He'd probably garner some level of interest. Never know when a goalie gets hurt or what not. OEL would have value if he stays and maintains a good level of hockey. I doubt he can maintain a level worth his pay throughout the entirety of his contract. He'd likely help out young defenseman and be a veteran voice on the team. He's a guy who's had ups and downs and been on teams as such. Youngsters could learn a lot from a player like him. The Good, bad and ugly of the league. I feel for OEL too. Going from one hot mess to another. It is what it is. Would be nice finding him a home for us cap-wise and him in regard of the rest of his career.
  4. Yeah process of elimination now. If the team falters with a coach like this than we know the team as a whole is incapable and serious changes need to be made. Roster reconstruction will be needed. I still have my concerns with the defense corp and bottom 6 even with an experienced coach but maybe the offense snaps out of the funk and can help Demko carry us to victories.
  5. Assuming we still falter closing to the trade deadline this is the order I would go the next 2ish seasons This seasons trade deadline.. Trade Miller, Motte(if he doesn't want to re-sign, 2022 UFA), Chiasson(2022 UFA and Pearson(minor NTC kicks in 2022-23). Off-season 2022 I would focus on trying to find OEL a home if you can. He probably has a few good years left at least I would be more focused on long-term cap relief if possible. Nothing on him but I would want cap after the rebuild. If he is capable of playing good into his senior years then he'd be worth keeping as a veteran leader but you can never tell these things and I don't think it's worth finding out but we could be stuck with him anyway. Make decision on Boeser. Whether that be keep him/trade him. 2022/23 Season Try to re-sign Horvat. If he plans on walking in 2023 let teams talk to him to work out a trade and re-sign so we can get a good return. Trade Horvat(if he isn't re-signing), Pearson(if you haven't already), Schenn(2023 UFA) and Hamonic(if you can, 2023 UFA)
  6. Lundkvist has insane potential. He was putting up insane seasons in the SHL as an 19/20 year old. Won defenseman of the year there as a 20 year old. He has potential to be another Fox. Lundkvist. Strome would still be good to have around for the playoffs push. He expires next season so there's no harm in keeping him and he's playing well right now. Miller is only guaranteed for 2 years. They have other good prospects, they wouldn't want to part with a top 5 or 10 prospect in the world, you don't trade those types.
  7. Yeah I don't think Myers, Poolman or Hamonic are very tradeable. I think if you put OEL on the market there might be a chance a team takes but it's probably small and I reckon you wouldn't get anything but cap relief. OEL's NMC probably makes it even less of a probability though.
  8. He's a guy you have the option to keep around since he's signed 5 years. IF you decided to trade him, however, he'd net you quite a bit I reckon. IMO if we trade Boeser we might as well keep Garland. What I wonder is if you could move OEL. IDK if you'd get anything but long-term cap relief but it might be worth it if we want to start to build up a roster proper in 2-3 years after a mini-rebuild.
  9. Someone would have to sell the farm for Hughes. I'd want like 5 1st round worth of pieces(picks/prospect/young NHLers).
  10. Is NHL 22 actually dog$&!#. I have bought every chel game since 11 but have held off on 22 so far.
  11. Personally I think more than a top 4 D need to be done. Roster has a lot of holes. Boeser isn't exactly lighting the lamp and has a 7.5M qualifying offer. You'd at best get a similar player in return(struggling top 4 D?) if you're trying for a 1 for 1 like that. Who makes that trade though? another struggling team? It's gonna be hard to find a good Boeser trade. Miller/Horvat are the ones netting you a small fortune, especially Miller. Teams looking for that playoff push would be looking to sell the farm for Miller/Horvat though since they don't want to mess with their roster. If you put Garland up on the market too he'd probably garner a lot as well since he's on a nice contract but you'd have to decide whether or not he's worth keeping around throughout the rebuild since he's signed long-term. We'll see. Still have to see how we play first.
  12. If we can't win with the group we have we will have to trade Miller/Horvat/Boeser for sure. Clock is ticking on Miller/Horvat UFA 2023 which is almost 1.5 seasons away. Petey would probably stick around for the rebuild since he's young enough.
  13. Not very worth it for NYR. I don't think they're gonna part with Lundkvist and they might as well keep Strome if Playoffs is their goal.
  14. Trouba, Fox and Lundkvist is another good reason. Their top 4/5D are pretty set for a while. Lundkvist is just getting started too and he could be a stud. Already a few rumours/speculation in NY with a potential reunion with JT Miller. So it looks like it's not outside the realm of probability. A number of teams have been circling around Miller (including one of his old teams, the New York Rangers) amid the Canucks’ disastrous season, although it seems as if GM Jim Benning does not have the full autonomy to make a core-altering trade at the moment. Frank Seravalli, DFO Larry Brooks of the NY Post notes that the Rangers may face a decision regarding Ryan Strome soon. They may also consider replacing him with Miller next year. Strome is a pending UFA and is in line for a significant increase which next year’s cap crunched Rangers can’t afford. His current cap hit is $4.5M and his next contract should be significantly higher.
  15. Yeah we aren't making the playoffs barring a crazy winning streak. Flames didn't with Sutter last year with the mid-season change. Sutter only got them to .500 hockey in the games he coached. At best we can look to create a identity, something to build on.
  16. NYR hang up, and hire homesome to throw a pie in your face. That's waaay too much. They won't move K'Andre Miller, they'll want him a part of their core. He plays with Trouba on a shutdown pairing. They have Trouba, Fox and Lundkvist(could be another stud RD on top of Fox) all set as their RD. They don't need Myers. They could part with Schneider and Kratsov(there were rumors of them maybe moving him). I wouldn't want Kratsov though. If he isn't signing there he definitely won't sign here.
  17. Yeah he's been with the Canucks as Vice president or AGM(3rd guy) since 2011. Always been the 3rd guy. He handles the business side of things like contracts/cap and what not from what I understand.
  18. Meh not really any good GM candidates out there atm. I would hope we are looking for a President.
  19. Full on wait till the off-season then for GM spot. Wonder what Chris will be able to do till then
