  1. Hoglander's been a little off lately. Nothing crazy but his D-play and passing has been a bit off as of late. Still works his tail off on the forecheck.
  2. He just took the job last year after Rutherford resigned. He's in win-now mode with the Pens. Pens have been riddled with injury/COVID all year, missing key players and still somehow above .500
  3. If we try a new coach and still fail still then the likelihood of us re-signing our big UFAs is pretty nil. Miller and Horvat likely won't stay on a losing team. Especially when they'd be top free agents with a chance to go to a winning team. To lose them for nothing would be pretty catastrophic. Emotions and chemistry are important but losing doesn't exactly bring about the best of emotions. Losing usually means the chemistry you're trying to build isn't working either. Losing stands out more than anything and hockey is a business, lets not forget that. These next two drafts are pretty big too. So if we're gonna suck regardless than that needs to be taken into consideration. A new coach first though. We should definitely exercise all options before considering trading expiring assets. We're maxed out with the cap for a while so we have to have success with the group we have.
  4. Kane would win a lot of money betting on Canucks games and I am sure the girls would be all over Virtanen here.
  5. I wouldn't mind considering him for an AGM spot. Not many experienced guys out there but if we're going to have to have a AGM graduate I would rather it be from a solid organization like the Avs AGM than a AGM from a bottom team. Also if we're going to have to have an AGM like that I would want a solid President.
  6. 4/5 defenseman for me is different than a 4 or a 5 seperately. I use it similarly like I would a middle 6 C or top 9 forward. Pretty much a player that can play up and down the lineup and be relied on when injuries hit and trusted more so than your typical bottom 6 forward or bottom pair defenseman. My terminology is a little weird but that's me.
  7. He is playing a lesser role with 19 minutes a game which is better suited for him at this point in his career. He's pretty much a solid 4/5 now. A part of some of the former Canucks having better hockey now that they're away from the team
  8. He started his off-ice career in 2008-2010 in Vancouver for two years as a pro scout then senior advisor before moving on to assistant coach the Blues for a couple years then got his gig with the Canadiens as director of player development for two seasons and finally became AGM from 2014 till he resigned several days before Marc Berg was fired.
  9. I doubt the Bruins would part with Carlo. When they need a shutdown pairing they put Carlo and Forbort together and when they need offense they put Grzelcyk and McAvoy together. If anything they'd looked to find a better partner for McAvoy. I can see Miller or Horvat interesting them. They need a C with Hall and Bergeron isn't getting younger. I wonder if OEL would still interest them at this point but I would only expect long-term cap relief from any move that's just only for OEL. My Bruins deal would be OEL Miller Garland roughly 17.5M in cap for Reilly Debrusk Wagner Moore Haula roughly 13.25M + Lysell 2022 1st 2023 2nd(Becomes a 2023 1st if Boston wins the cup in 2022 or 2023) Short term Rebuilding move. We take their cap dumps and they get 3 solid pieces. They give up two 1sts worth of assets(maybe 3 if they win the cup). We might have to retain on Miller to make the cap work better. Bruins get a disgusting top 9 of Marchand-Berg-Pasta Hall-Miller-Garland Foligno-Coyle-Smith Top 4 of OEL-McAvoy Forbort-Carlo With someone like Grzelcyk as your 5th D. Haula/Debrusk/Reilly could all be flipped by us as minor trade deadline pieces at some point since they all expire on different years. We wouldn't get a lot but it would increase the amount of assets get. We get away from OEL's contract which helps us a lot long-term even though he's not bad. Overall a long-term move for us with cap relief and future pieces. Gives us more flexibility with the cap after rebuilding phases but more moves may need to be done.
