  1. We are really grasping at straws now aren't we.
  2. My goal would be to trade Miller this year and try to extend Horvat early pre-season 2022. If Horvat doesn't plan to re-sign then trade him that year. That doesn't account for others I would trade as well. Of course after a GM change first and a new coaching staff is tried but IDK if new coaches can fix this team in time. The team makeup is wack and too many key guys are in super funks.
  3. I wouldn't consider it outside the realm of probability. He wouldn't even be a rookie coach from the AHL but an actual legit newbie coach with highschool experience. We need actual NHL coaches.
  4. Boston's still competing as far as I know so I am not sure what they'd be willing to trade besides the guys they've scratched. They could see what we see in Horvat/Miller being UFAs in 2023 and perhaps think that the Canucks might end up losing them in 2023 anyway so might as well call and see. Maybe be the early bird.
  5. Sure, why not more bad publicity. What could go wrong in a market like this?
  6. Guys have to keep in mind 2023 UFA with guys like Miller/Horvat. They could walk for nothing if we try to keep them. Not many good reasons to stay with how the team is and looks. In FA 2023 they will be the top guys and have a lot of teams interested in them.
  7. He could walk in 2023 though. Same with Miller. That's a real possibility with the way the team is playing and given they're in their primes, wanting to win and will be UFAs for the first time with a lot of teams likely calling.
  8. Barzal is an RFA at the end of his deal. Miller and Horvat are UFAs in 2023. They wouldn't want to trade a guy like Barzal for either of them. Islanders were hit rough with injuries and have lost 8 games in a row.
  9. In all likelihood, with how we playing we won't be able to turn things around in time. I mean we haven't won more than 2 games in a row at all and have only stringed 2 wins in a row once. The pacific hasn't really slowed down too much and the six teams ahead of us have a 5-15 point gap on us. I can't imagine all six teams ahead of us in the pacific start losing a bunch. That doesn't even account for the central when it comes to Wildcard spots. We've also played the most games in the west so all but 1 team(Anaheim who are tied with us) have games in hand. How many times were we in the fight than missed? If this team doesn't have significant success the profound consequences will happen regardless. This team is in a rough funk and has a whole lot going wrong with it and it looks like we aren't gonna make significant changes like coaching or GM with any sort of haste. So the hole is gonna keep getting deeper. Even then a new coach will have a lot on his plate with a team riddled with problems. We wouldn't be a winning team right away. Even Sutter last year only got the Flames to a .500 record last year when he took over and they weren't half as bad as we are right now.
  10. Barzal is struggling a lot too right now. 1 goal -7 in his last 6 games.
