In all likelihood, with how we playing we won't be able to turn things around in time. I mean we haven't won more than 2 games in a row at all and have only stringed 2 wins in a row once. The pacific hasn't really slowed down too much and the six teams ahead of us have a 5-15 point gap on us. I can't imagine all six teams ahead of us in the pacific start losing a bunch. That doesn't even account for the central when it comes to Wildcard spots. We've also played the most games in the west so all but 1 team(Anaheim who are tied with us) have games in hand.
How many times were we in the fight than missed? If this team doesn't have significant success the profound consequences will happen regardless.
This team is in a rough funk and has a whole lot going wrong with it and it looks like we aren't gonna make significant changes like coaching or GM with any sort of haste. So the hole is gonna keep getting deeper. Even then a new coach will have a lot on his plate with a team riddled with problems. We wouldn't be a winning team right away. Even Sutter last year only got the Flames to a .500 record last year when he took over and they weren't half as bad as we are right now.
