  1. What makes you think I was looking toward a playoff spot? Don't be naive. Just letting people know how dire of a situation we are in only 1/4 of the way through.
  2. We're 2nd for most goals against in the western conference, 4th for least goals for in the west and have the 2nd worst home record in the west.
  3. We are 11 points out of a divisional spot and 8 points out of a wildcard spot with 7 teams ahead of us. We're also tied for most games played in the western conference.
  4. We have more than double losses than wins and more than triple regulation losses than regulation wins
  5. D-core has three top 4 D and all of them are more offensive/transition players. No defensive D. Really miss Tanev in that regard. Didn't replenish the bottom 6 well enough. Dickinson, a winger, relied on replacing what Beagle/Sutter brought down the middle. Those two things alone have led to our PK and defensive play being piss poor. Same problems as past years. Relying too heavily on goaltending but even more so. Giving up the 1st goal almost every game. Can only manage a period worth of time at per game where we look good and that's on a good night. Star players in Petey/Boeser having a rough year. Petey isn't going than the offense isn't capable of playing at its best. Our weaknesses from before got worse this year. A lot has gone wrong.
  6. Rutherford doesn't want a GM spot he wants a hockey ops one.
  7. Yessir. He won't be playing in NA till he does whenever that may be.
  8. I like the logo but not the rest. Not enough red.
  9. Islander's can't really afford to part with any of their defense. Pulock just put on LTIR and is out 4-6 weeks. Dobson was just hurt and is day to day. I doubt they part with Pulock or Dobson. Pulock just signed an 8 year deal. Dobson still on ELC this year. Mayfield's on a pretty cheap deal too for 2 years and the Islander's are cap-strapped. Wilde sure but he isn't a grade A prospect.
  10. Petey does deserve it at this point. Could get a fire going but some of the stuff Babs does, over time, could rub people the wrong way. Babs also likes to play his favorites akin to Greener and Willie with grindy players.
  11. First I would fire the coach and GM. I would hire a president of hockey ops to fill in as interim GM till we find one. We need to see whether or not this team can have any sort of success under a new coach, if they can't then the group as it is isn't cut out. If this group can't pull it together as we near this trade deadline then soft rebuild. Keep everyone under 25ish. Trade everyone of value over 25ish. Accumulate picks and prospects for your players of value like Miller, Horvat, Boeser?/Garland?(if you don't decide to hang on to them). You don't have to trade every veteran of value right away this season but guys like Miller and Horvat are at their highest value now. You'd be shedding cap space at the same time, try to stay near the floor. Draft top 5 for 2 years with our own pick then start to build your roster with the high end youngsters you draft, the prospects you traded for and the rest of the holes on the roster via free agency with the cap you cleared. You wouldn't be a playoff team right away after the 2 year soft build with youngsters on the team needing time to grow and perhaps you can't fill on the holes on the roster in one off-season(that's a big ask) but you'd be on the uptrend.
  12. Biggest speculative rumor was that he wanted to rebuild. Burke and Hextall are in win-now mode so it might have some flak. Rutherford reportedly wants a hockey ops position more than a GM one.
