Jurmo, Woo, Truscott Persson. Rounding out an alright defensive prospect crop. No real deals but all having encouraging years save for Woo. Really early for them though. All guys are 2+ years away anyway too. Hopefully we are able to draft a solid RD in the next 2 years that can grow with the core.

[Signing] Hurricanes sign Tony DeAngelo
Junkyard Dog replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I do believe that some people deserve a second chance if they’re willing to change and accept responsibility for their actions(unless they’re actions are extreme). If we aren’t gonna give certain people second chances when they want to be better and improve we’re doomed as a society to never grow as much the way and pace we’d like to. A way to stop hate is to educate the ill informed and sometimes mistakes make the best lessons. In the case of DeAngelo he is on a sort of probationary period with me and my thoughts on him. I am sure the Canes are keeping a watchful eye, as they should, and so should we. We will see how he pans out. -
Predict The Score Contest: NAS @ VAN Nov 5 2021

6-2 Canucks. The PP does something against a team it has done something against before. Petey GWG and breaks slump. -
Not yet but we can’t afford a bad stretch. Need to string together some wins.

Shaw is an overseer. He isn’t in charge of anything but is a part of everything. -

Having to righty shots and Garland being a righty playmaker would allow for different looks and plays. i would also allow Hughes to rover more. Allow Petey to step into the point for a one timer down the middle where Hughes usually is. Need puck and body movement. Not just puck. -

Him more than most. Not the solution or viable option either. He doesn’t get many touches but the times he does he loses it most of the time. Miller hasn’t been good for that matter too. Miller should be PP2 IMO. He’s a high volume passer and it hasn’t been working out so far. Send Brock and Garland up to PP1. Garland is a better playmaker and PP 1 could use more righty shots to make it less predictable. They only use Petey and Hughes as shooting options and Horvat as bumper. -

I think Garland and Boeser should be on PP1. Drop one of Horvat/Miller down. The other one of Miller/Horvat can be the net front guy, they are big boys. Have two righty shots. IMO Garland is a better playmaker than Miller. -

There have been numerous times where he tried to make plays with the puck on entry only for him to lose it and get sent down the ice. He isn’t a great player with the puck to say the least. He isn’t the main issue but he is far from a solution or viable option for PP1. -

That says more about Petey than Chiasson. No one can argue against Chiasson handling the puck like a hot potato. A lot more plays and possessions die on his stick than any other on the team this far. Our PP hasn’t been too good with him either. Garland would do much better on PP1 and he hasn’t been tried yet. Horvat or Miller are big boys and can be around the net. -

Yeah the crowd at the end there was the best I have ever heard in a long time. It's hard to hear them on the broadcast and they didn't make it hard. Hopefully the players can build off that. -
0/6 PP and 2 PP goals against isn't winning hockey long-term. Unless Garland or Demko saves the bacon but they're only human.

Stick Garland with Petey. Garland makes things happen. -

IMO that was a boring game for both teams till the end there in the 3rd. We had 12 minutes of PP time for the first 50-55 minutes of the game so it seemed like we had control but our PPs sucked and neither team generated any real momentum throughout the game. Rags scored quickly on both their PP goals and got their last 2 PPs late in the 3rd. Garland stepped up for us and Panarin stepped up for the Rags. Besides them and the goalies, nothing was really going for either team. Nobody really took control of the game. Nevertheless fun end to the game. Crowd got shot with adrenaline from a coma at the end there. -

It was pretty boring for both teams. It wasn't exactly entertaining for either teams end until late in the 3rd. I credit more so the PPs preventing any sort of Rags momentum shift. The PPs were pretty spread out and we had 12 minutes of full on PP time since there was no 2 man advantage. Rags didn't really build any momentum on their PKs. They played a boring game as well and couldn't build any momentum because of the penalties. They scored pretty quickly into their PPs and 2 of their 5 PPs were late in the game on that 5 on 3. So only 1 full PP time(killed PP) until the last 55 for the Rags compared to 12 minutes of full PP time for the first 55 minutes of so for us IMO both teams weren't great or particularly awful. We just had the better spread of things with PP time. Nothing was going for us until Garland stepped up big in the 3rd and the PK did at the very end of regulation. Demko had to be lights out too in pivotal moments. Nothing was going for the Rags either besides Panarin stepping up and Igor(like Demko). It was that type of game for both teams. Garland and Demko got us into the position for Miller to be the hero. HM to Poolman who had a couple huge blocks on that PK late. -

We had weak calls go in our favor too though. So the atrocious reffing went in our favor as well but we didn't capitalize. -

5th worst PK and 10th worst PP that went Canucks 0/6 PP and Rags 2/5 PP will do that to ya. -
