  1. He's the only D that hasn't been scored on the PK. Even Rathbone in his only PK shift, due to a PK D being in the box, got scored on. He's no Tanev but he's been alright on the PK. Some good and some bad but nothing noticeably too good or too bad.
  2. I am simply making an observation. I stated not too long ago that this was a good test for our #6-8D.
  3. He's fine when he has time but he needs to get faster otherwise he will get beat whenever there's a quick turnover/turnaround.
  4. OJ, Rathbone, Schenn and Hunt all had an off period. Myers has been alright and I haven't noticed Burroughs.
  5. That was Rathbone's guy. I haven't liked the Rathbone-Schenn pairing since game 1.
  6. OJ made up for it by clearing the rebound but he gave it away after.
  7. If Hamonic opts out I would check the waiver wire and/or just rotate through OJ/Rathbone/Schenn all year. One of the LD might have to hop over to RD. We could make a trade if we're willing to give up assets but it might end up being to costly. Tough spot.
  8. Greener usually uses his top 4 a lot more than his top 6 5v5. I think a part of the reason we started to see Myers on the 3rd pair 5v5 last year and now with OJ/Rathbone is because Greener wants to use that pairing moreso 5v5.
  9. If I read that second part correctly it is exactly as I stated. I know Boeser's was signed before, therefore will have a qualifying offer based of his last salary. For players who are on expiring contracts that were signed after July 10, 2020: The Qualifying Offer is limited to 120% of their previous contracts annual average (AAV) Reference: 2020 NHL CBA extension Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Unless I am missing something here? You have me a little confused. I thought the changes I stated were the new ones?
  10. In the new CBA the qualifying offer can only be 120% of the AAV of the overall contract with the salary made on the last year having to be at or exceeding that in order to receive that 120%. An example being 8M AAV on a deal with 10M of salary on the last year of that deal would only equate to 9.6M on the qualifying offer since it can't exceed 120% of the AAV. 120% of 8M = 9.6M. I believe they will definitely maximize that 120% they're able to get on their next qualifying deals if they do bridges. I think the term is a year apart because it creates twice as much hassle when you have to deal with 2 RFAs of this caliber, especially when they can buddy up with agents.
  11. My guess is both same or very close term different dollars. Petey paid slightly more and maybe Hughes an extra year. Bridge deals with high qualifying offer.
  12. Pretty good start in the Liiga for Jurmo. If he can keep this up he will quickly rise in our prospect rankings and I am willing to bet he’ll get a look at the WJC. Raw player but potential is there and so far this season has been a major step forward.
  13. We usually keep 8D. If everyone plays it will probably be OEL-Poolman Hughes-Hamonic Rathbone-Myers OJ/Schenn
  14. All I have to say to this scum is Hopefully he faces substantial discipline from the league.
  15. Depends on the consistency of the new guys(OEL/Poolman), consistency and improvement of the young guys(OJ/Rathbone) and on Hamonic's return.
  16. I could see Rathbone up and down the NHL/AHL but I think he should start the year in the NHL as it stands. OEL can be used in all situations and you have the option of having Rathbone as the PP2 defenseman which would free up OEL a bit more while giving Rathbone more of a role. IMO Rathbone has earned the spot so far and he should be rewarded by starting the year as 3rd LD barring the rest of camp. If/When Hamonic comes back we'd have 4 PK D available. I think Green would be okay with 2 RD on one PK. He uses Myers on the PK with other D usually and we have used two lefties there before. OJ should stick on the roster as an extra. He will definitely get opportunities to play and prove himself. He has played well on the PK and has been steadily average overall 5v5 these past 2 preseason games. He plays a quiet game which isn't a bad thing. I also think it would be good having OJ start as an extra. It would put a fire in him. He needs a bit of that right now. Whenever he was taken out of the lineup and brought back in last year he came back stronger(besides when COVID hit). I remember always seeing clips during the season post practice where he was always working on his game. In this sense I could see both on the roster. Greener said he liked OJ's game today and said Rathbone's D was improved this game. Greener really loved OEL tonight though.
