  1. No worries. I am hoping one of the young guns step up with the players out. Now is the time for them to shine.
  2. Jack Hughes was blunt but he wasn’t really in any position to be blunt like that.
  3. Canucks management still stand their ground with RFAs. They’ve been consistent I’ll give them that. It has worked out thus far. It should be interesting to see what happens with these two.
  4. I’ve been popping goals with my flow and I feel just like a Brockstaaaaarr.
  5. As I stated initially if everyone was healthy that is my lineup and as I should have implied/clarified re-signed with Petey. Those are my lineups if we have a complete roster and my long term roster as it stands. See above. Certainly though some players at the start will be given an opportunity to show what they got and it will be interesting/exciting to witness. Perhaps one of them stands out and get an extended opportunity. I will be cheering them on if they prove themselves that much.
  6. I was talking about more of the compete levels and seriousness of being a pro hockey player. He’s been to camp before. He knows there are spots available. It doesn’t look like he was as prepared as others fighting for those spots. I am finding a hard time figuring out why OJ is in the position he is in given that he isn’t like Virtanen(personality/immaturity wise). It doesn’t sound like injuries are an excuse anymore with Green stating he didn’t do himself any favours. I like OJ and came to his defence a lot last year but this is the year he needs to prove he deserves a spot moving forward. Management is in a higher gear to improve than ever before. He may end up being left behind if he isn’t able to improve this year especially considering we have other young D in the system coming up. I hope he does improve. He has an interesting skill set that would go well with what we have.
  7. I think Rathbone is good enough to be on the roster and it looks like he will be playing with Myers if he does play so I wouldn’t mind him learning here. Given the circumstances it isn’t a bad environment in Vancouver for Rathbone. I haven’t seen or read up on how Hunt has been. If anyone has any tweets/clips they can share about his camp so far I would appreciate it.
  8. All we can hope for is that he sees it as a wake up call and ups his seriousness. He isn’t at Virtanen-like immaturity/personality levels and I am not giving him the excuse of COVID/injury this year. He will have to be better.
  9. I would wait till next offseason to get rid of him if he doesn’t improve enough over the course of this season. I don’t think is value would be any different in that sort of scenario.
  10. From what I have seen and heard about Rathbone today the offence is great but the defence is not so much. The clips he is in tell the same story. Nice moves and passing offensively but he got walked and beaten wide in a 1v1, out muscled a few times and coughed the puck up a couple times with breakout passes. As of now he’s my guy at 3rd LD but I don’t know where he fits with Hughes and OEL both offensive guys as well. Should be interesting.
  11. To be honest I would be surprised if a coach like Green would grant a rookie that opportunity on the PK when he usually uses vets there. Even OJ didn’t get a lot of time on the PK last year and that was reportedly what he was good at in Utica.
  12. Yeah not a hot start for OJ. We will see how he reacts to the demotion. I won’t expect him to start the year barring how he plays in the games if the coaches get him in. He may end up starting in the press box. I don’t think we waive him though. We usually roll with 8D.
  13. This would be my forward lineup as of now with everyone healthy. Hoglander-Petey-Boeser Pearson-Horvat-Dickinson Podkolzin-Miller-Garland Motte-Sutter-??? Petey/Miller lines are more for offensive usage. Horvat’s line is the shutdown line. 4th line is PK/secondary defensive usage. 4th line RW is up for grabs. Chiasson/Gadjo/Mac/Lockwood. Can fight for that spot and 13th forward. PK forwards 1st unit Sutter-Motte 2nd unit Dickinson-???/Pearson IMO this works out really well if Dickinson isn’t bad at the dot. PP forwards 1st unit Miller-Horvat-Petey-Boeser 2nd unit Hoglander-Dickinson-Garland-Pod Not sure I would change the 1st unit PP right away. 2nd unit PP I would roll 4 forwards as well since we have Garland/Hog and one of OEL/Rathbone that can move around the puck well with Dick/Pod to cause problems around the net.
  14. I expect Sutter to be in the lineup as he’s our only righty C and is good at the dot.
  15. It should be noted that if Miller does end up playing C then Dickinson can play any wing and can Sutter 4th C. That way we have at least 3/4 centres that are 50% or higher on the dot. I imagine a Pearson-Horvat-Dickinson line would probably be one of the better shut down lines in the league. Or you could move Pearson with Petey and Hog with Horvat if you want more balance on both lines. Miller as C gives us a lot of options and makes our top 9 better.
  16. Have to keep an eye out for low to high pass if D walks in for a scoring opportunity.
  17. Good question. He’s flown under the radar a bit. Almost the same with Poolman but he apparently looks good with OEL and he skates well from what I have seen.
  18. Beagles line the last couple years took secondary responsibility defensively and handled PK duties. I am sure that won’t change. Beagle is also much better at faceoffs than Dickinson so there’s an argument that Horvat’s line will probably start more draws vs top end lines since you want possession vs them. One of the 3rd/4th lines will be used more 5v5 than anything. I expect that line to harbour more young players. There might be an off-chance Miller is a C too, given that he’s with Garland and Pod. I would expect him and Petey’s line to make up the offensive lines in this sort of scenario.
  19. ACL possibly. Usually leg pain and screaming go with this.
  20. Mac E. I think Pearson Bo are a mainstay since they’re used in matchup roles. It’s one of Green’s go to’s
  21. I believe that’s the pre-ritual for all politicians before heading to work.
