I'm with jimmy. Smoked or slow cooked Back Ribs with lots of sauce, double stuffed potatoes, corn with tonnes of butter, and coleslaw.

It's my go to summertime "I've earned this" meal.

  2. Currently he is not in the wrong in pointing the blame. He is also night and day compared to McKay in terms of your descriptions. I remember you calling McKay a sellout. Whether he has or can acquire leadership traits, I really can't see him doing worse than Scheer. Then again I don't see many people being worse than him. Either way I would see it as a step in a better direction.
  3. He was in his late 20s, early 30s during his early career? I just prefer him over the current ballot of candidates for sure.
  4. Easy there cowboy. No need to get oversensitive over a harmless remark. Holy that's like the size of an army.
  5. We didn't have a good amount of options for leader this time around. Pierre Poilievre would of been my guy but he has got a young family. Probably not the time to lead the Cons anyway. My bet is McKay though.
  6. There's an IG video of her at a club of sorts I looked it up and saw it. She can have those opinions but she was pretty ruthless in delivering it. Everyone knows the lock-down is a lose-lose situation. Being a JP fan, having listened to multiple lectures and interviews, I don't think he'd approve of some of these things his daughter's doing. That's probably the same sentiment a lot of his followers feel. Some of them will probably take it a step further and ridicule her. JP tends to show compassion to people in dire/severe situations. He's teared up and has gotten emotional in interviews talking about some of the people he's helped. Doesn't seem like a trait his daughter shares.
  7. Her entire IG post A lot of ups and downs in that IG post
  8. Oh yeah the super devotees aren't gonna like that. Also does she have Covid? News reports I have read said he got it from the hospital.
  9. Gaudette isn't really a center and they don't need one since Compher, Kadri and Mack/Landeskog make up their top 3 Cs. Demko doesn't have much value to them since they have Annunen for the future. Grubauer and Francouz don't need to be replaced, they are playing very well. They aren't afraid of playing people on their off-wing and several wingers already are. Nichushkin and Burakovsky are both lefties that are playing the RW right now, they can play both sides. They have a need of a top 6 winger and top 9. Some people expect them to go for Toffoli for the top 6, who they were heavily rumored to be interested in during the season. Overall Virtanen would be a nice add for them. A top 9 winger in their age group.
  10. Eh not a good look for the Dems if true. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8630561/Dont-underestimate-Joes-ability-f-things-Obama-shares-private-doubts-former-VP.html https://nypost.com/2020/08/15/barack-obama-reportedly-undercuts-bidens-2020-white-house-run/
  11. Yeah, given the cap situation it would be ideal if we rid of him but right now he's playing good enough to stick in the lineup.
  12. Damn Svech can't catch a break with getting hurt in the playoffs. OV knocks him out last year and Chara mucks him up in front of the net and he messes his leg up.
  13. I have seen a few local reporters and speculators saying to let him walk that's why I was wondering if you heard anything. Zadorov has a 3.2M qualifying offer which is a lot for them on their 3rd pairing. They have to re-sign Graves too who will be 4M+. No sense in signing Zadorov long-term for a few good reasons. First off he isn't gonna have much opportunity to progress through the Avs D-core. They have Landeskog/Makar needed new contracts soon. Avs will probably look to add to their top 6 and top 9 this off-season(So I have heard). Graves plays in the top 4 with Makar while Zadorov playing in the top 6 with Cole. Byram and Timmins shouldn't be too far off and could make the jump next year which is why I said have Benn in there for veteran depth for the year. Benn is an upgrade to Connauton/Barberio who are the extras coming off the books. Virtanen would give them that top 9 winger, with a bonus of being in their age group, and they would still have enough to possibly add a top 6 winger they desire. They've shown that there willing to take chances on players like Nichushkin and Virtanen is a safer bet than Nich IMO and I feel he could do well with the Avs. The cap Avs would use to re-sign Zadorov would likely make up Virtanen/Benn's contracts and they would kill two birds(younger top 9 winger/veteran D-depth) with one stone(3rd Pair D for them). Zadorov would have a lot more opportunity in Vancouver. Edler will be 35 after the end of next season and coming off the books. If he decides to retire/take lesser role Zadorov would be next in line for that opportunity in the top 4 as guys like OJ/Rath find their game on the 3rd pairing. Given his age and the fact that he can play both sides we would probably sign Zadorov long-term. IMO it seems like a pretty fair deal in terms of value and the situations align. Avs are in a position where they have some D coming up while we got some forwards not too far off.
  14. Overall defensive zone Sutter 30 Horvat 33 Beagle 46... I pointed that out in my post... was that hard to miss? You take the filler line waaaay out of context. Didn't say it to demean his line, just as a point of it not being used in a checking role 5v5 which is the truth. As if I have hated Sutter. I have been a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE Sutter supporter over the years when people harked on him hard. I have reinterpreted it as a secondary scoring line because that was my meaning in that. Like what exactly are you going on about here really? What are you arguing? Cause it sounds like you and I are on WAAAAAAAAAAY different points. It's really agitating when you're trying to put words in my mouth. Taking things I say out of context. Misinterpreting what I am actually meaning. Like really what is your deal here? Total misjudge of character on your part. His actual deployment? Virtanen doesn't face tougher competition like the 2nd and 4th lines 5v5. He isn't on the PK. So what exactly are you going on about? Zone starts? context matters like who's taking the most draws where like I pointed out with Sutter being 3rd in overall d-zone faceoffs with a good chunk of them being on the PK WITHOUT Virtanen. My ENTIRE point was that the 3rd line isn't a checking line with guys like Roussel and Virtanen on it 5v5. They don't go up against the better offensive players. That's why we use the 2nd and 4th line in that regard 5v5. Sutter isn't filler he is a huge part of our PK and has been good 5v5, a lot better then Virtanen has I must say. Like really man stop misinterpreting what I am saying. Ask for clarification if you're so misunderstood about what I am saying. I am happy to clarify but I am not happy to get reamed about beliefs that aren't mine.
  15. Do you think Zadorov for Virtanen+Benn might be a good deal? Avs shouldn't really tie too much money into their D long-term with Makar/Landeskog needing new contracts down the line. They got Timmins/Byram coming up at D soon too and will need to give Graves a new contract. Benn would be a stop gap and veteran depth for a year and Virtanen would be a winger in their core-age group. The cap hit for the Avs to sign Virtanen and Benn's 2M would essentially be the cap of Zadorov's deal for the Canucks. He can play either side and is a huge physical presence. Same age as Bo(25) and was his teammate in London. Might have some room to grow and could take up more responsibility as Edler ages.
  16. Benn is probably our most likely contract to be rid without needing a to add too many assets of because it isn't unreasonable. 2M for one more year for a 6/7D. I don't think teams will be licking their chops but, given the cap situation with corona keeping it flat, they might seek a cheap veteran Dman than what FA has to offer. In theory. Barring us shedding any major contracts or Eriksson retiring(pipedream) Toffoli is gone unfortunately. We have 17M in cap, lets say Tanev and Marky take up 11-12M of that. Leaves us with roughly 5-6M of cap with the choices to sign Gaud/Virtanen/Motte/Stecher/Mac/Leivo/Fanta. Something REALLY has to give or we take a step back. What I could see happening is us having to spend assets to clear some cap. I also have a strong feeling that Virtanen is traded in the off-season.
