If he can make plays like that with and without the puck consistently he'll have a top 6 spot next year. We are in need of an upgrade on Fanta/Benn and maybe he can be that.

I think the Myers signing was average, not too good not too bad. We were able to get 5 years which is like the max I am fine with in regards to UFA's that aren't stars. 6+ scares me. Overall the more so the recent trades seem to be paying off. We got Motte for free for Vanek(a guy we signed), we turned Gudbranson into Pearson which was a nice trade recovery and Miller is paying off dividends. Miraculously Sutter is playing like a Sutter too.

Man life has really given him a tough go in 2020. -
Yeah that's the point I am making. Everyone has upped their game where he hasn't. He has been decent but he could be better if he had a high compete level like Motte/Mac and others. It's what's holding him back. These are constructive criticisms. I am not against Jake I just see the flaws holding him back from being more dangerous.
-
He's been decent but hasn't made much of an impact compared to all the other forwards. Not saying he's been bad, just that the other forwards have just been better. Almost every forward except has upped their games the past 2 games. He still lacks consistency and compete level you see from guys like Motte/Mac who have more of an impact. It's what's holding him back from being dangerous. I am being constructive with my criticisms of Jake. I want to see him be dangerous and reach that next level. If he had Motte's motor he'd be a prime Jannik Hansen/E.Kane mix, a fore-checking god. You said it didn't make much sense to keep Brock away from Petey when at the time Toffoli has been rock solid with Petey too. It really didn't seem that senseless, it was a position where you couldn't go wrong with either player. I was coming to Green's defense there. FYI I would of put Tofu with Bo if I was making decisions.

Maybe. If that was the case it would be the right move as a coach to sit him down and talk to him. Green might have to tell Jake to free Jake. He can be such an effective player if he can gain consistency away from the puck and up his compete levels. Petey showed in game 1 that if you consistently play with a high compete level you're gonna see good things happen.

Well Tofu was producing on that line. It wasn't a bad call at the time. Jake hasn't scored whereas the top 6 and PP1 has. He doesn't play the PK whereas others on the bottom 6 have. He doesn't play vs the other top line which Bo's line has. If you compare what he's contributed to all the other forwards he doesn't hold a candle. Every forward has been better than him save for a couple. That said he should be in the lineup. Virtanen is a streaky player, like Gaud, and could pop at the right time. He can be a lot more better and consistent with the physical play though. In 1 game Mac had 3 hits and drew 2 penalties in 5 minutes . In 2 games Virtanen played 18:12 minutes and had 3 hits. That's a significant difference. Overall Virtanen can play with higher energy, if he does he will have more opportunity to hit people. Just pointing out that Virtanen hasn't really contributed much compared to the rest of the team and that he can be better even if he doesn't score.

IDK about that. Youngsters were slow game 1. Wild cashed in early on the PP and got to play with the lead. Scored an ugly one Marky would like back. Stalock played great Virtanen hasn't contributed to much so far compared to everyone else. Even with the lineup we have now we probably lose. We were slow and Wild had puck luck and PP luck. Main reason we've won the last 2 games is because the PK has been great and allowed the rest of the team to regain form. 5v5 Marky has been good as well. Mainly PK has given us momentum.

I don't think he's had much of an impact at all. To say that would be to take away from the things that have actually contributed to the series It has mostly been the PK keeping our team afloat while the youngsters/team find their feet. In Marky's own words, the PK has been unbelievable. Also Marky has been good 5v5 and is a part of that PK.
