You must really value Savard and Anderson or don't value Boeser that much.

Would be putting faith in youngsters to succeed. I am not opposed to trading Boeser/Virtanen for a D when one of the youngsters prove ready but perhaps we won't have that luxury. I do really like Risto Peaches would be a pipe dream. My pipe dream would be to get two compliance buyouts, use them on Eriksson and Myers, sign Peaches, Tofu, and Tanman.

If we get rid of Tanev we need to replace him. Otherwise we are gonna be worse off next year. So either we trade Boeser/Virtanen for a top 4 RD or sign one in UFA.

Good question for you and @aGENT If you do all the right things and get all the wrong results, does blame fall strictly on your shoulders? -

Journalist Gloats Over Jordan Peterson's Troubles

It's all good it just feels to me you see him as the guy across the table, the enemy. Whereas he is the guy on the side coming at you from a different point of view. If you can get that analogy. I don't even consider him as much of a conservative, he comes across very libertarian in his ideas socially. -

That's a societal problem. It can happen with everyone right or left. Happens with Trump with Alt-right, incels, etc. Happens with a guy like Bernie with the radical left, antifa, etc. People need someone to cling to and are willing to stretch these certain individual's ideas to fit their own narrative. So these individual's ideas get transformed into something that they're not and they can then be scrutinized for something that they're not. Then the media takes that and manipulates the masses into thinking something that's potentially far from the truth. And that's why I hate the media, the far left and the far right. -

Youtube Jordan Pettersson you'll find a lot of videos in regards to debate or even his lectures helping people. Yeah Jocko's an awesome character. I imagine the fear of one of his daughters bfs when they meet him for the first time. Dude's got one facial expression -

Yeah. In that sense there's evidence of him being more of a traditionalist(Like Ben Shapiro for example) which I don't agree with. He stated in a debate he'd refer to a transgender female as a female. 19:58 - 20:32. For the most part I feel he doesn't agree with the subjectivity of how many pronouns since there are no set amount of them. -

Almost everyone will agree with his lectures helping people(especially men), grow confidence, take up responsibility and finding there place in the world being a clinical psychologist. Not everyone will agree with him on social matters and with his views on free speech. -

165 pictures were taken that night. https://www.omgvip.com/jordan-peterson-february-18-2019/ “I glanced at it. I don’t like the word Islamophobia, so there’s that. I think it’s a propagandistic word. I don’t have a dress code for my lectures. He had a right to wear the damn T-shirt if he felt like wearing it. I’m a free-speech guy”, he told The Times. Quote found here https://sputniknews.com/world/201904271074518093-jordan-peterson-opens-up-proud-islamophobe-shirt/ Also a video back in 2017 in regards to Motion 103. IMO his views are more along the lines of Free Speech and the right to criticize. He isn't agreeing with whether or not it is right or wrong but just the right to say. So either you've taken it out of context or think that we should censor all negative speech whether it be criticism, like JP has aforementioned and is arguing, or hateful speech which I haven't seen him endorse(if I am wrong show me). Also a good read. https://blog.usejournal.com/the-anatomy-of-outrage-91dc5af24ad7- 642 replies

In what way? Every debate I found him in he's been very rational and level headed compared to a majority of left/right speakers.- 642 replies

How so? -
Personally when I saw blame china I mean there leaders and at the same time I say I feel for their peoples. I presume most people share that sentiment. Like I said though simpletons exists. Either way this argument takes us away from the actual problem which is their leadership. I would rather stop seeing this argument and maintaining focus. If idiots decide to flame the people both right and left wingers should call them out.
-
I think majority of reasonable people can separate government and peoples when they blame China. Anyone who doesn't is a simpleton.

Tierney would be a better add. 85 points in last 152 games on a crap Ottawa team playing a defensive role. He is only like 2 years older than Gaud(24 in October) and is already capable of being a 40-50 point great defensive 3rd line C who's good on the draws. He's an RFA this off-season too so we can sign him long term. Former London Knight and Horvat teammate. They take back Eriksson. Also try to nab a late 1st/2nd since they have 7 picks in the first 2 rounds. Tierney is on a Kadri caliber but is a bit worse offensive but better defensively. Pretty much a 2nd line C. Would be valuable to have in case Horvat/Miller/Petey get hurt since he could step up and be a good top 6 C. It would give us center depth of Horvat/Petey/Tierney for 5+ years. Tierney also has a lot of playoff experience(including a SC finals appearance) even though he is just entering his prime(turns 26 in July). Would grant us the option to trade a winger for a D eventually since Gaud would become a winger. Top 9 next year Miller-Petey-Boeser PPG each Pearson-Horvat-Toffoli 50-60 points each Virtanen-Tierney-Gaud 40-50 points each That'd be a lot of offense. Tierney's line wouldn't need to be sheltered. He's pretty good defensively and he's a passer too so he'd go great with Gaud/Virtanen.
-
IMO it was a mistake to not give Virtanen and Gaud some PK experience this year. Beagle and Sutter are not gonna be here forever. Also Green used the 4th and 2nd line more than they did Gaudette or Virtanen late, especially Bo's(Empty net) line. There's nothing great about Virtanen's defensive game. He hasn't been put into an environment in order to improve like he should of been with Horvat prior to Toffoli. Like Gaud he's been almost strictly a secondary scorer. He's better than Gaud but not nearly good enough to carry anyone. When together that line needs to be sheltered. They're on the bottom echelon of defensive prowess on the team when it comes to forwards. There's no other way to put it and when it comes to playoff time these things get exploited hence why they need to be split apart when we are away. Not against them as players and I want them to improve enough so that they can be together without the need to be sheltered but they need to be put in a position to do so separately.

[Signing] Canucks sign Nils Hoglander
Junkyard Dog replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
In the AHL or SHL for another year while we give Gaud/Virtanen more experience defensively next year in order to see them improve. There's no huge rush to have Hog here. The goal would be to be to make Gaud/Virtanen the players the next youngsters play with without having to worry about sheltering since they'd be better and more responsible two-way players on top of already being secondary scorers. -
If he was he'd be used as such. No PK time or defensive responsibility say otherwise. He hasn't had any experience with that whatsoever so he wasn't put in a place to improve as much as he needs to. You can argue that he's better than Gaud but he's still in the bottom echelon defensive prowess on the team and there's a lot of room for improvement. He definitely isn't capable of carrying anyone defensively and IMO sticking him with Gaud is counterproductive in helping both of them improve defensively since it restricts 5v5 play to having to be sheltered. I would have liked Virtanen with Horvat most of this year instead of Eriksson. He would be a better player now for it.

Probably 1. As good as 2 would be for player development landing Laff would give us a top LW for 10+ years.
