I doubt that. Cons of not being able to pay everyone else, like our young stars, outweigh immensely. He'll probably sign much less anyway like 5-6

said 2 guys which would be 4th Eriksson/Beag 3rd Motte/Sutter Yeah he was out there with Petey during a mid line change. Motte's been dynamite on the 4th but we might want to stack up the best lines we get and roll with it. Personally a line of Motte-Sutter-Virtanen could be great at forechecking. Yeah I can see a potential problem maintaining possession but I don't see what else we could do at this point. Virtanen and Gaudette can't be together because they are our worst defenders. After the 1st the Leafs were trying to get Matthew/Tavares out against them and had a couple momentum building shifts. It's a very exploitable line. I think they need to be seperated.

Not disagreeing, just stating past circumstances of a tight playoff race and a goalie playing at a Vezina level. Unfortunately here in the present there's still a tight playoff race and now we're without that Vezina level tending.

It was hard not to play Marky with how well he's carried us but yeah it could of helped Demko out here.

If you limit the 4th line 5v5 time it could work. Sutter should move to 3rd C and move Gaud to the wing. Move one of Gaud/Virtanen with Bo then move Motte up to third with Sutter and one of Gaud/Virtanen. 4th line should consist of Eriksson, Mac and Beagle. Each of the bottom 6 lines have 2 guys who can play D. Motte would probably be better than Eriksson on 3rd because he is one of our best forecheckers and defenders.

They are our secondary match up line essentially and PK guys. Sometimes I see them out there vs other teams 2nd lines. This game they were a 4th on 4th which was what the Leafs were going for and they played alright. That left the 3rd line to everyone else though and they didn't play great. The 3rd line of Spezza played a lot better. Leafs were trying to get Matthews/Tavares line against them after the 1st.

Mikey D is still a couple seasons away after this one. Demko looks like a young Markstrom right now. Softies and big saves. No consistency. Need him to be better. Hopefully Loui surprises and can steal some guys for us. Might need him too,

Oh for sure. Leivo isn't bad defensively and provides solid secondary scoring. If we had him and Boeser back would make us extremely deep at RW. Loui isn't bad defensively as well but he's void of offense. Better than Roussel though, doesn't PK, shouldn't be on PP, doesn't hit as much as he should. Mac should be in instead of him.

Sutter might need to play 3rd C and switch Gaud to wing. Really disappointed in Roussel this year, Mac should be in for him. Put Gaud/Jake with Bo and move Eriksson down since at least he can play D. Might want to call up an AHL guy, i'd rather see an AHL guy than Roussel which isn't a good thing. I think we need to split up Hughes and Tanev. Need more out of all of our D. Myers isn't good with Fanta and he plays a lot better with Hughes. Tanev can and should be used more defensively at this point. Most important thing is Demko finding some consistency. He looks like a young Markstrom out there letting in softies and making big saves. We NEED him to be better.

I didn't like how Marincin just walked by Hughes/Tanev to pot in an easy one from Demko. It's Demko's fault but Hughes/Tanev let a Dman walk by them without getting in his way or impeding him, it wasn't good D.

Lack of Boeser makes us a 2-line team. We would probably be in the same boat if we had Boeser though and didn't trade for Toffoli. If we had Boeser and Toffoli we could have a better top 9 so yeah we're definitely missing him.

My biggest point is the fact that those 3 guys aren't exactly are best guys defensively. Teams are looking to expose them all the time. Leafs built momentum after a couple long shifts with those guys stuck out there. Virtanen and Gaudette are both streaky scorers still rounding out their games. Roussel doesn't PK, shouldn't be on a PP and isn't a consistent physical presence. I am sure Mac would be even just a bit more effective but I would keep Virtanen/Gaud away from each other so they don't get exploited.

Teams look to take advantage of them all the time. Toronto had two long momentum building shifts while they were out there. You shouldn't have 2 guys who are still rounding out their games together and with a useless player in Roussel especially.

2nd and 4th lines were average. 3rd line was garbage tonight. Top line with a bad night. Petey was really off offensively and Miller was by himself mostly. Toffoli was average. Need to throw Gaud/Jake with Bo and hope that you can find something with everyone else for a 3rd line. Gaud and Virtanen too streaky to be together and they are not good defensively. Roussel is a waste of a roster space. Demko average again. Like early Marky lets in some softies and makes good saves. Need him to step up.

I don’t think 176 is gonna help him moving forward. He can be faster and more powerful if he added more muscle.

Big thing with Petey is his weight. If he gets 10-15 pounds stronger he’s gonna be a lot more harder to play against. 176 is way too light for someone 6’2’’

Just do a legends take. Bring in a Different HoF player every other week.
