  1. Carolina are flying him down!! Their GM contacted him.
  2. If we knew Tryamkin was coming back it might make us more inclined to trade for an offensive guy like Barrie. Tryamkin would be a defensive guy in the top 6 we've been missing.
  3. Rather try to sell them on Sutter being a defensive forward and Stecher. Retain salary if you have to. Get a young asset pick/prospect out of them.
  4. They'd want Markstrom not Demko. They need starters not backups.
  5. Probably have a better chance at trading Sutter there if Sutter was a bit more healthy.
  6. I mean there's some Bruins I respect like Bergeron because he is all class, he is also one of my favorite players because I love the way he plays. I think he's gonna be an NHL coach someday. Chara to some degree because he is a good leader and has class, emotional player though. Rat definitely brings the team down and I don't like their fans much after Salo.
  7. Gonna be hard not to think that every young guy is gonna step in and be an impact player now after the way those three have. Unfortunately I don't think we're gonna have any elite top 6 fwd/top 4 D rookies step in again like them. Maybe we get lucky and are able to draft another one that blows expectations again. Pod/Hogs will take some time and probably step in as top 9 forwards. The D prospects we have will probably step into a top 6 role. The way we have our team set up though we're gonna give these players the perfect environment to develop in. So I am not worried.
  8. He doesn't remember that one game where Marchand made those gestures the following seasons. The ones even Claude Julien, his head coach at the time, didn't like whatsoever.
  9. Barrie would be nice but idk. We are already sometimes shaky D-wise. Setcher isn't great defensively but he competes well in that regard. Acquiring Barrie would most definitely thrust either Tanev or Myers into a defensive role. Barrie would probably play with Edler which might be a pretty good pairing but we'd have to have a lot of faith in Fantaberg-Tanev/Myers in a defensive role. If we knew Tryamkin was coming back then I wouldn't be afraid of trading Stecher for Barrie. I don't mind having more offensive D but we need more certainty defensively before acquiring this type of Dman.
  10. It's not just about punching people's lights out, it's more than that. It's about having push back, it's a type of player we severely lack. I made an entire thread about that or the lack thereof. The grit, or in all actuality "toughness" you're talking about we already have in guys like Bo, Pearson, Motte, Miller, Toffoli . I am talking about REAL grit. Player who love to lay out the body. AKA Ferland-type players. How many of those do we have? 1 who's on LTIR and perhaps a future one who's sitting in Mac. I don't see Bailey bringing that, especially as much as other people we can acquire who'd be a better fit. If Petey gets hit we have to have someone who stands up for them. If the games start to get more chippy and physical we have to be able to match that. We have a lack of players that do either. We shouldn't have to rely on an AHL scorer to do that. Why do you think we are heavily rumored to be after Simmonds?? Not that I personally want to spend more on a rental but the rumors definitely support my opinion. Fact of the matter is there are better guys better suited for the roles we need than Bailey and we need to acquire those types of players.
  11. He's been a bit better but there's still room for improvement. Consistency has still been a big issue this year and he can be a lot more physical than he is. No reason why a guy like Motte should have the same amount of hits as you being 5'10'' and having played 35 less games. Imagine someone with Jake's size, speed and talent with Motte's motor/drive. Other than that I am pretty happy with the step he's taken offensively and with the little things.
  12. Great 5v5 player but not someone who's gonna be out there when we're holding on to leads late or on the PK. Not a traditional two-way D in that sense, he's utilized offensively but world class puck-moving and offensive talent. I don't expect QH to be used defensively in most regards, his size and skill set point him to be a more of an offensive defenseman but #1D can be more offensive for sure. He's world elite level at what he does for sure. Would love to acquire another Dman around his caliber but amazing at both ends, more so in his own. PP(though not needed) PK, match up, physical. Shea Weber type. Guy that's gonna be facing the McDavid's/Mackinnon's etc.
  13. How nice of the Canucks to win and become 33-22 like the Jerseys of the Sedins numbers were 33 and 22. Sedins were 39 years old when their Jerseys got retired and the bruins lost 3-9 and stayed on 39 wins for the season.
  14. Commentators also said he plays in Leafs practices too when their goalies need breaks.
  15. Gave up his first 2 shots but Canes playing amazing in front of him.
