I would ease your expectations.
Unless of course you want to be disappointed.
Cory Schnieder was also invited to WC after college and never played a game. Cory also spent 3 seasons in the AHL before coming to the Canucks full time.
Expect Demko to also spend 2-3 seasons in the AHL.
I wouldn't mind if he spent a year in the ECHL or CHL. He is definitely having a good post draft season but can't seem to translate his skill to the pro league.
He does seem to have skill but it could be that his size is holding him back from pro hockey.
Does he join Utica and practice with the team?
I know he won't play but I think it will be good to get to know the players there, the city and especially its fans.

They really don't need Demko, probably the last place he should go out of all 30 teams. They probably are set for the next decade for goaltending.
