  1. Looks like the majority of the fans want him back next year at the very least.
  2. With how all the teams in the WC are playing it is time for us to try and work our way back up the standings. Going on a big winning streak will help us achieve that, let this game be the start of good to come. 4-2 Canucks
  3. Or re-sign Santo at a cheap home town discount and trade Hansen, who has a limited No Trade Clause that doesn't kick in till next year, because Santo, the guy we signed for Utica, is seriously outplaying him. Santo can also play any FWD position, he's especially good at C which, unlike Hansen, makes him a good utility player.
  4. Yeah we are not trading Stanton and it is hard to not re-sign Santo with how he has played. I would rather move a part of the core than those two guys, Edler, Booth and Hansen come to mind. If we want to be a better team than we should part ways with some of the core and resign Santorelli, who like I have said, has outplayed everyone not named Sedin. Looks like the majority of the fan base wants him.
  5. Gaunce AHL, Hansen traded and Booth bought out. Explain how Horvat should be placed into the 2nd line C, Gaunce 3rd line C, Booth not bought out and how Hansen, Higgins, Kassian, Richardson, Kesler and Burrows have outplayed Santorelli?
  6. I think it is time we parted ways with some of our core players this off-season.
  7. Trade Hansen unless he manages to outplay Santo which seems unlikely and buyout booth. Guance will probably need a bit of seasoning in the minors. Santo isn't like Raymond which is small and skilled, he forechecks hard and battles along the boards. He plays strong for a guy his size, similar to Higgins. Santo can also play any FWD position like Torts has pointed out a bunch of times. Santorelli deserves a roster spot more than a lot of our forwards.
  8. That's unfair, Santorelli has not ever been to the playoffs and barely any of our forwards have shown they can perform in the playoffs the past two years. That and there's a possibility we don't make it.
  9. I never said we don't need to. We will probably have to make moves at the draft to make room for some rookies, that's when we can either trade for one or move up in the draft. Other than that we could take our chances at FA.
  10. Santorelli would probably re-sign for less than either of you expect. Santorelli is currently outplaying every forward not named Sedin. Hard to argue that Kesler has outplayed Santo because Santorelli plays less minutes and never had a stint with the Sedins. I would move one or two of Burrows, Hansen and/or Booth if they don't start playing consistently well to make room for rookies or potential FA's and to re-sign Santo.
  11. Should we re-sign Mike Santorelli? If so why and for how much money and how long of a contract? If not why? I chose yes because..... Look how he came into Training Camp. He finished first in the two-mile run, edging out the Sedins, which apparently was considered an upset. Santorelli plays strong on his skates for a guy his size and works incredibly hard along the boards. I remember that one shift against Calgary earlier this season where he outworked 3 Flames on the boards, that really caught my eye. Santorelli's not extremely fast like Hansen is but he's quick on his feet, shifty you could say. Santorelli's also pretty good at faceoffs, in the shootout and plays well in the defensive zone. Santorelli doesn't have the best shot but has come up clutch at times and he has made some pretty decent passes to set up some goals this season. He can play any FWD position and has shown he can help make something happen on whatever line you put him on. Santorelli was also born in Vancouver (not that it matters). Santorelli is currently 4th in scoring among all Canucks, tied for 1st in +/- and has the best faceoff winning % of all Centres of the Vancouver Canucks. I think we should re-sign him because he is the type of player you want your rookies to look up to. To me he is a good example of how hard work and dedication to the sport of hockey can lead to success.
  12. When we struggle people look into the past to find excuses but what they should be looking into is our future. Next season will probably have a bunch of rookies looking make the pros and moves will have to be made to make room for those who do. Given how well some of our new accusations(ie. Santo, Richardson and Stanton) are playing, some of our core players(ie. Edler, Booth, Burrows, Hansen) could be moved if they don't start playing better.
  13. Like almost all PWFs Kassian needs time. I don't remember many PWFs becoming a huge threat till they had 3-4 seasons(at least 200-250 games under their belt). Kass does play very inconsistent but I expect that given the style he plays and how inexperienced he is.
  14. I think he just needs to play, he only has 106 NHL games under his belt. He was also rushed into the NHL when he needed to spend a solid year in the minors.
  15. There's a reason why we hired Torts, for players like Kassian and Edler. Will Kass become a star? Unlikely but crazier things have happened. Glad you brought up Todd and I agree, Kassian will not become the next Bertuzzi. It took Bertuzzi till he was 25 to breakout though hence why I have said multiple times in different threads. PWFs take time, history has shown that, get that through your head FFS.
