Podkolzin's ice time has stayed relatively the same as last year and Podklozin's has played mostly with so far this season in these line combinations. BO HORVAT - CONOR GARLAND - VASILY PODKOLZIN ELIAS PETTERSSON - VASILY PODKOLZIN - ANDREI KUZMENKO ELIAS PETTERSSON - NILS HOGLANDER - VASILY PODKOLZIN His production has dipped nevertheless despite playing with some good linemate for the most part. Especially early one when guys were out, he had a lot of opportunity. So in due part too he has been struggling. Dries has done well with less ice time, as has the 4th line and Stunicka wasn't too bad. These guys have earned some looks which means there will be less ice-time to go around, not to mention Pearson's out(with Studnicka). Personally I would send Pod down with Hog/Rathbone while we figure things out up here. It wouldn't be forever and I see more benefit than their current situation.

Hoglander's ice time has dipped from last year from 13:05 to 11:23 and Hoglander's has played mostly in these line combinations. ELIAS PETTERSSON - NILS HOGLANDER - ANDREI KUZMENKO ELIAS PETTERSSON - NILS HOGLANDER - VASILY PODKOLZIN J.T. MILLER - BO HORVAT - NILS HOGLANDER Overall the opportunities they've gotten(which have been relatively good in terms of quality of linemates for the most part) they haven't made the most of. They haven't warranted the ice-time or staying in the lineup consistently even vs the 4th liners. Sure we have better wingers(some of which they play with), but they struggled when given opportunity, especially considering we started the year without 2 of these better forwards. I won't discount the fact that we have a deeper forward group but they had the opportunities and didn't make the most of them. Given the fact we're deeper at forward, getting healthier and the fact that they are waiver exempt, I would probably send them down the AHL for a time. I see a lot more benefit compared to their current situation at this point in time.

It’s probably due to the fact he is a rookie and not used to NA hockey. Not all development paths are a straight road to reaching your potential. We’re already seeing that with Pod/Hog who have struggled and have yet to secure spots with the constant scratches.

Could be two Vancouverites going 1st overall the next couple years. Macklin Celebrini looks like the real deal in 2024.

[RUMOUR] Vancouver and Columbus in trade talks

Not for me. I want news. -
Miller would be gone too for me before the new year preferably. I am a bit more extreme in my measures for rebuilding.

Yeah but the longer we hold onto our players the higher we’re gonna end up in the standings. The Trade Deadline is a while away. I wouldn’t keep tradable assets into the new year. If it were up to me I would trade Miller, Horvat and Kuz before the new year. I would maybe trade one of Garland/Boeser at the trade deadline if they perform better with improved ice time(PP1 and Petey’s line). I would for sure weaponize any cap we have left at the deadline. Set us up for a solid chance at a top 3 pick probably for the next couple years.
-
We starting come back up to earth a bit. I expect us to be around .500 the rest of the way with this current roster. Our offence won’t let us draft a top 5 pick and I can’t imagine Demko to struggle all year. A Miller/Horvat, Kuzy and maybe a Boeser/Garland trade would probably give us a pretty good shot at a top 3 pick. it’s what I would do this year but I would probably be more extreme tbh.

Unless we decide to tear down to a degree we likely won’t be getting him. We are too good to draft top 5 as is.

[RUMOUR] Vancouver and Columbus in trade talks
Junkyard Dog replied to Elias Pettersson's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Still needs to find his scoring touch. Especially when we lose one of Miller or Horvat who he's played mostly with. Gonna lose a bonafide scorer and assists will be harder to come by at even-strength and on the PP with a loss of a solid 30 goal scorer. Shots per game is at an all time low and his shooting percentage is less than half of his career average. In his rookie year he had more shots per game with almost the same ice-time. -

If you trade one of Horvat/Miller than Boeser's ice time and role would increase. Probably leading to more goals. Currently playing at an all-time low in ice time thus far this year. -

Goals in 1 of 14 games would have been better to say. -
Predict The Score Contest: VAN @ VGK November 26 2022

12-11 Canucks Horvat -
We did a bit better than the Vegas game in limited scoring chances against and generating more scoring chances for. More work needs to be done though. In all situations Scoring Chances(All situations) - Canucks 19 / Avs 29 High Danger Scoring Chances(All situations) - Canucks 10 / Avs 10 (Good improvement) High Danger shots(All situations) - Canucks 9(scored on 3) / Avs 8(scored on 2) Overall better but could be better.

I neither gave them props or dismissed it. That wasn't what I was even talking about for the 2nd time. This is what I said It was in relation to Martin having an easier schedule of teams than Demko, which he has had up until the point I said that(and still to this day considering the amount of games Demko has played in comparison). You're misrepresenting what I was talking about and trying to create an argument that isn't there.
-
I am not sure how you came to that conclusion. It makes zero sense based off what I said. You're just assuming I am saying something entirely different from what I am actually saying. Nothing you're saying relates in anyway what I was talking about. You literally took what I said in my second sentence only. What I said in regards to the Pens was in regards to something else entirely which for some reason you decided to ignore. You're coming at me about something that correlates to what I was actually saying which was an entirely separate topic about Martin.
