Habs fan offer for Boeser
Junkyard Dog replied to MaxVerstappen33's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
If we decide we are tearing down a bit Miller/Horvat/Kuz should be the first to go. Garland/Boeser we can be patient with and would get improved role with Miller/Horvat gone. It would be better to trade them the following season(with Myers/Pearson) where their value could be higher with better stats playing a better role. If we can get good value for Horvat/Miller/Boeser/Garland/Kuz then it'll help since they're the higher value guy besides Petey/Hughes/Demko Use the freed up cap space to take bad contracts for picks/prospects, nothing over 2024-25 with term. Monahan got a 1st with 1 year left so if you do that a few times on top of trading those guys(Horvat/Miller/Kuz/etc) and you'll be screaming. Once you clear the other guys(Myers/Pearson and any contracts you've taken for picks/prospects) the you'll have a lot of cap to work with. After a couple years of garnering picks/prospects and drafting high you can begin to build the roster for the 2024-25 season with the abundance of cap space and prospects you have. You have a lot of flexibility with adding to the roster whether that be a prospect stepping up, a Miller-type trade, taking on a quality asset from a cap stricken team or an UFA. 2024-25 would be the season you'd have to sell to Petey since he becomes eligible for UFA in the 2025 off-season. If he signs long-term then great but I wouldn't be naive to assume he would. I reckon 2024-25 might not be a great season but you'd have to show progress that year. -

Do we really need to blow this all up?

I mean at least it would be a concrete plan of action and one less reliant on ifs to work. -
[Proposal] Horvat or Miller off to Long Island
Junkyard Dog replied to Coconuts's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Then he’ll waste money on a large management group and capped out team that probably won’t bring him much playoff revenue. -

Trade Miller, Horvat and Kuz. Use cap to advantage. Stock up on picks/prospects the next 2-3 years. Then start using your cap and prospect pool to support the new core. -

Demko got some bounces for once and made some big saves. He needed it. -
[RUMOUR] Vancouver and Columbus in trade talks

Might as well try with the NTC not kicking in till next season. -

1st and 2nd will probably be early ones though. Maybe Mateychuk instead of Cuelemans since Mateychuk is LD anyway which Chychrun would replace. -
[Speculation] Canucks exploring Tyler Myers trade

No no. He is the key to Bedard. -

1st 2nd and Cuelemans is a bit of an overpayment for them IMO. They could probably almost land Chychrun with that. -

Still though they should probably think beyond this season with any moves they make. They are less likely to make the playoffs then us. I would think Johnson/Sillinger/Jiricek/Mateychuk are all off-limits. They've had two top 12 draft picks in each of the last two drafts(5th overall, 6th overall, 12 overall, 12th overall). Those 4 are probably the core they begin to build around. I could see Miller for Voracek+ but not anything of high significance. -

Voracek is more of a playmaker(closing in on 600 assists) and if the goal is to get out of Millers contract it’s 1 year can 7 years next season. He can also be flipped next TD. -

Horvat turns 28 in less than 5 months. -

I wonder if we can work something around a Voracek-Miller swap and get out of Miller’s contract. Flip Voracek next year. -

Probably have to include retention on our part and cap coming back. -

Would you trade our 1st round this year and our best prospect for a top deadline expiring target in order to compete with Miller’s contract when we are near the bottom of the league? CBJ are off worst because they are dead last and riddled with injuries. -
[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks
Junkyard Dog replied to HOFsedins's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
We’d have to retain 50% and take cap back.
