  1. Dakota Joshua, Lazar, and Lockwood seem like they'll make up the 4th line next year. Cheap, fast, young. Like to see it.
  2. The Canes gave up two AHL guys and a 3rd round pick and somehow got Burns and Pacioretty today. Incredible work by Don Waddell.
  3. They’re just signing guys to 1 year deals and flipping any of them who have value by the trade deadline. I am not expecting him or Stecher to be a coyote by season’s end.
  4. I think Ty Ronning to Abbotsford makes a ton of sense and I wouldn't be shocked if that happens... especially with guys like Sheldon Rempal, Justin Bailey, Phillip De Giuseppe, and Nic Petan not returning. I'd love to grab Sam Steel but I doubt we're in on him.
  5. I didn't realize he was still playing! Good on him for staying in the game until he was 38. Wore the A in Colorado for years. Over 700 games for an undrafted tough guy in the modern game, impressive.
  6. With Highmore and Lammikko out, this basically paves the way for Lockwood to be on the 4th line to start the season. It's his spot to lose. Sad to see Lammikko go, I felt like he did a very good job in his role. That said, it's pretty obvious this management team wants a right handed C on the fourth line. With Sutter basically retired, the team needs to find an NHL calibre right handed C for that 4th line. Curious who they'll take a chance on.
  7. Nice story about Damion from when he was 9!
  8. Months of waiting? More like years!
  9. He must like playing in Belleville a lot more than Buffalo!
  10. Great to see! Especially since Jacob Middleton was the last pick in the 2014 NHL Draft! I forgot that he got moved to the Wild at the trade deadline for Kaapo Kahkonen.
  11. Kaprizov is already back in the US. He fled back to the United States already. But yeah, Minny is a team I'd bet against in 2023 regardless.
  12. It is a promotion. He goes from being Ian Clark's #2 to running the whole show. Well earned. It's felt inevitable that he was gonna get an offer like this. Sucks it's the Leafs but congrats to Sanford! The Leafs need a goalie coach. There situation in net has been horrendous for a few years. I wonder who the new goalie coach will be for Abby now.
  13. Mike's brother Chris Grier is the GM of the Miami Dolphins so even if Mike's management experience is limited, he has family connections to people who have held the same job in different sports. Also, I bet you this opens the floodgates for the NHL. Kevin Weekes has come close to several GM jobs (Penguins, Panthers come to mind), won't be shocked to see Weekes get a GM job in the next 1-3 years.
  14. He was a 6th round pick by the Lightning back in 2019.
  15. Excited to bring my Fire Dale Tallon sign to Game 1 of the season!
  16. We already gave them our junk last year. Our junk this year isn't that bad. I don't think giving up Rathbone to get rid of Poolman/Dickinson is worth it. I also think you can give them a lesser prospect to take those players on. Replace Rathbone with someone like Jett Woo or Michael DiPietro and you may be onto something.
  17. I think you can sign Lazar to a minimum deal and basically have him be the Nic Petan/Phillip De Giuseppe of this coming season. Let him bounce around between Abby and Vancouver next season.
  18. Yeah he won in 2010-2011. Second ever recipient of the award. If Allvin can turn this team around in the next three years, he could be the second. Benning will never get one even if he ends up being the Flyers GM in the next year hahahaha.
  19. ELISA STEAK + BLUE WATER CAFE = WINNING SIGNING COMBO. Also, all the work that Patrik Allvin has put into getting Kuzmenko over the years.
  20. Well this is terrible. Bill Haslam is legitimately a terrible person and he was a horrible governor who only got into power because his family's money. He's horribly anti LGBTQ+, a gun nut in the worst way, and a religious zealot. This man should not be owning a NHL club or any sports franchise for that matter. His actions as governor of Tennessee have ruined/hurt more lives than he's helped. I feel bad for anyone who works for the Predators organization. What a mess. I hope the NHL Governors pass on this guy. He'll be the new Eugene Melnyck but a worse person. Don't be shocked if Haslam gets control of the Predators to see the team suddenly "trade" Luke Prokop, among other measures (Reminder: Luke Prokop is the first NHL drafted and signed prospect to ever come out as gay during his playing career) since Bill hates gay people and has the track record to prove it. (As governor Haslam put a law in place that allowed adoption agencies to discriminate against same sex couples seeking to adopt children and he's still against gay marriage being legal). *BARF*
  21. I think Rangers fans will love this signing a little less than how much Sammy Blais loves his sister and Sammy Blais LOVES his sister.
  22. In 2023, the Philadelphia Flyers are pleased to announce the hiring of Jim Benning as General Manager & Scout Master General
  23. Going back to university for one more year. Expect him to be one of the top college UFAs next year, if not the top one.
  24. He signed a 2 year extension in the SHL back in December 2021 with Frolunda, It doesn't seem like that's the kind of move a first round pick makes if the Wild truly refused to sign him. Seems like it was mutual, at the very least. https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2021/12/wild-prospect-filip-johansson-signs-two-year-extension-in-sweden.html
