  1. Would definitely make our team look a lot better right away. I wonder what the cost would be...
  2. You're both right - Boeser is better, but Dumba is more valuable.
  3. Great point. As a Canucks fan living in Calgary I was trying to think of a Botch equivalent in this market to explain the loss to my colleagues here - and there just isn't one. Botch was one of a kind, and a true loss.
  4. I'm imagining that if the leadership group of the Canucks showed up at YVR arrivals at the same time that it would be a total gong show of fans freaking out - which would probably freak Quinn out. Better to keep it low key.
  5. 100% - I've noticed this very clearly since moving to Calgary 7 years ago. The hockey media here is like Pravda - barely ever anything negative written about the team or ownership.
  6. Based on these interviews, I'm wondering if the "insider" report that leaked on Reddit a couple of months ago might have been accurate and that the Canucks have Necas at #3 on their list.
  7. Patrick said the same thing in an article on NHL.com this morning
  8. I've gotta say - any doubts I had about Juolevi's numbers have been alleviated by actually seeing him play. He's definitely thinking the game on a higher level than his teammates (most of them); I think he'll translate quite well to the NHL.
  9. Yeah that was some suspect coaching - I know Juolevi isn't the most offensively minded D-man, but he was certainly the best Finn D today and wasnt getting the ice time to support that conclusion today.
  10. Yeah I agree - I feel like Willie has been keeping him at RW to help him feel more comfortable not realizing that he's actually way more comfortable at LW.
  11. I recall that in junior most of his snipes were from the left wing... Might be worth trying him out at LW when he gets back to the NHL, as he seems more comfortable there.
  12. Rodin-Horvat-Hansen is a pretty effective line on paper. Nice combo of speed, grit, finish, and two-way ability.
  13. "Tomorrow" would be a nice timeframe to sign and go join the Comets for a play-off run... Just sayin'
  14. That's great to see for such a tiny guy.
  15. What do we think the chances of Virtanen and / or McCann being loaned to Team Canada for the WJC are? I've kinda got a hunch that this might happen. We'd see Shink and Gaunce called up for the 2.5 weeks that the WJC takes to fill the void - those guys get some NHL seasoning, and Virt and McCann get to be leaders on Team Canada. At this phase in everybody's development I don't think we'd see a huge drop off for the Canucks if those roster moves were made.
  16. I've gotta agree with that - at worst he'll be an upgrade to the fourth line, and get better experience and coaching being up with the big team. Maybe he could be loaned out to Team Canada for the WJC too...
  17. I really wanna see this line combo after an off-season of solid training for Horvat especially. Could be a legit 1b line.
