[Signing] Canucks sign Max Sasson

I would rather see Garland moved for a 3C. With his hustle in the ozone and offensive game (+.5 ppg in a bad season) would be helpful on a younger team (he would be a solid leader/role model as well). The Sharks trade Sturm($2mx2)... for Garland The Canucks acquire an NHL 3Cx2yrs, while the Sharks get Garland -$3mx2yrs The same trade could be made with Brock, but the Sharks would have to add. -

I love this sort of thing. Very team bonding and creates a loyalty. The message is loud and clear. I also like that they (finally) brought up Rathbone (McD's BFF since grade 1) as well. These little things are what. young players remember and appreciate -
The more time he gets to work with Clark, the better chance he will have. I like his determination.

I understand that someone who lives in Vancouver and is a Canuck fan would want to play for the Canucks, although they would need to be very confident in their abilities, due to the media and fan expectations. People from other parts of the province (away from the West Coast), may not necessarily be Canuck fans; especially those growing up in the eastern areas of BC. Livingstone, who grew up in Creston, is reportedly a Flame's fan.

[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Dallas Stars | Mar. 25, 2023

Yes, I am waiting to see how the team looks in the new season. There are many things to be taken care of before I buy the monologue. There needs to be a couple of intelligent trades and decent selections at the draft. The team needs to play the way they have when they start and sustain it with +.550 record. If the team makes it to the wild card status I will be happy. I don't expect to see anything close to contender status, as I think it will take a lot more than 1 season to build this team into a SC contender. -

The team is playing better hockey right now and the top players are excelling. I like the new structure and the effort that is being applied. It's too bad that the majority of Canucks games have been relatively easy opponents and will continue to be for the remainder of the season. These wins do not give me confidence that the Canucks can win the division next season, although, waiting to see what happens during the offseason could change my opinion. Who will be above the Canucks in the division? Right now, I would say Oilers, Vegas and probably the Kings. -

Great pickup for the decimated farm team. Really could use a couple of dmen to help them through their playoff run. Sasson get his chance to make the NHL at some point. -
Just don't get how they can acquire any players in UFA without moving some contracts and not subsidizing them either. If they want a 3C, sign and older vet who requires less $ and term such as Bjugstad, Johansson or Brassard; placeholder for Raty. Please do not sign a LD ufa unless you are trading or buying out OEL!!!!!!

Nice to see Woo doing what he has to do to make the NHL. As long as he can keep his hits clean and penalty free, he's got a great chance at getting there. Always liked that kid.

They were caught sleeping after the wonderful people that roamed the streets in Vancouver during the Olympics arrived. Those people created a respectful, friendly, happy, curious, fun-loving, joyful, safe proud, peaceful, etc. environment. What a fantastic vibe, only to be trashed by the mucky-mucks after the SC final loss. So pathetically sad for the City of Vancouver.

I'll be cheering hard for Jack. Hope he impresses the suits.

(Rumour). Jake Livingstone D - NCAA - NHL Availability
higgyfan replied to SilentSam's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I would think that Livingstone is looking at the teams that can provide the best chance for him to make the NHL jump and grew into a permanent top 4 dman. That would narrow down a few of the contenders. We'll see if PA starts his 'wining and dining' techniques when he's finished his season. This will indicate whether he's moved on from Jake and is looking at other NCAA guys. -
IIHF bans Russia and Belarus for 2023-24 season
higgyfan replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Yes, it's a double standard; especially if you consider the invasion of Iraq, but that was 20yrs ago when many folks were still naive about the US government. I still question the IIHF protecting Canada's 'dirty little secret' though. -

Human beings are not perfect and come with a lot of baggage by the time they reach adulthood. Imo, most people fluctuate somewhere between 'selfish and selfless'. It's a lot easier to deal with these challenges if you have developed a tolerance for others; which is usually taught (somewhat) to us as children. It can be achieved with willingness, hard work and a touch of forgiveness. Change is very difficult for human beings and usually takes a long time to happen. The 'Lord of the Flies' behaviour alive and well on the internet these days. This is not an excuse for a person's questionable opinions; it's just an attempt to clarify the reasoning behind their actions. Despite Reimer's religious beliefs (baggage), I'm pretty sure he would throw a rope to anyone drowning.
