  1. Give it some time. It's early days for this team. Having to play against the SC Champs is a tall order. Be patient grasshopper. Still some more places to be filled for this team. Right now, they are getting some much-needed experience in this kind of game.
  2. Bad goal seconds before end of period. Guys have to regroup. Green needs to give Pete better support.
  3. House sitting for a friend in Victoria. Does anyone know what the HD channel # is? The channel I'm watching looks like hockey during the 90s. Thx for any help!
  4. To be fair, Stech was not supposed to be a top 4 guy. As I recall, Myers and Tanev were the top 2RDs. He would be just fine playing alongside Fanta. Some folks are even suggesting that Rafferty could replace Troy. What has Raff proven in the NHL. He's played in 2 games, whilst Stech has completed his 4th year. Let's give credit where it's due.
  5. EP and QH look like they are really fast skaters, but I think it's more to do with how quickly they think the game and then immediately respond with the perfect play. Someone missing from this conversation is Horvat. His skating has become quite exceptional. The Fastest straight line skating goes to Virtanen.
  6. The people who are vulnerable to the virus (I take a medication to suppress my overactive immune system) have an incentive to take in any info given and to act on it. It's not a great way to exist, but it keeps us alive. Not so much for the young folks as their numbers for becoming seriously ill, are very low. I doubt the 19-30 set have been following the government updates or paying much attention to the news. Whatever message they are receiving, is mixed, at best. I agree with you that the government shouldn't have to hold people's hands and that peeps need to be more proactive. Always have.
  7. Well said, Deb. My kids are 20-22yrs and are taking the virus very seriously. They keep to a small group of friends who are also following the guidelines. These kids are (temporarily) sacrificing their lifestyle to protect their parents/grandparents and anyone else that will likely suffer if they get infected. I think the young people that are neglecting the COVID-19 protocols are in the minority; otherwise there would be a much higher infection rate. Most of us knew that the infection rate would increase with Phase 3, just as it has around the world. Those of you that think Ont and Que are doing so well, should realize that both provinces entered more recently than BC. Time will tell how that goes. I think our leaders have missed the boat by not having an approach specifically for the younger folks. These kids are not following the Henry/Dix presentations and are kind of sketchy about watching the news. They need to develop an approach that is designed by under 30yr olds; utilizing their language, social network(s) and any technology that is useful. Get the message across in a way that's educational and meaningful to their peers.
  8. Sad news. Always liked Dale as a player and hockey personality. 57yrs old. Gone too soon, Dale. RIP
  9. Same where I live. The folks I know are generally maintaining their bubble and going shopping during 'seniors' hours. Sure, like every generation, there are boomer covidiots out there, but the recent rate of infections indicate that they are not the drivers of the high number of new cases. Let's face it, the numbers since phase 3 reopening have escalated and most of the infections are in the 19-30 range. As these numbers climb, the vulnerable people are pushed into a more isolated existence. The only good thing about this (if you can call in that) is that while many of the younger folks are getting infected, the hospitalizations have been at lower levels than we've seen in months. Unfortunately, the higher the numbers climb, the risk to the public increases. This will inevitably lead to greater restrictions for us all; especially if a 2nd wave is in our future.
  10. I've been thinking that for a while now. The game yesterday showed them outplaying the Blues 4x4 and Canucks popped in a goal. Someone needs to start a fight with Perron and get the penalties. Great 4x4 opportunity for the Canucks.
  11. Fanta came to play last night and looked great. His physical game, along with all the shot blocking it top-notch. Great addition to the team. Good job, Benning.
  12. Stecher was being tracked all night by the Blues. He was he took a lot of hits for the team. That was the tough assignment.
  13. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
