  1. Yeah, he made a similar comment about Pettersson, but just the other day he commented that perhaps EP 'has no ceiling' to his development.'
  2. Yes, I can understand why he doesn't want to do an interview in English. He must know how much he's been misquoted by now.
  3. Yeah, and we don't have Ryan Miller anymore!

Yeah, kind of a silly statement considering that this isn't the first time Gags has been waived.
  5. yeah, feel kind of bad for Gaunce. I think he worked really hard and played his best; just couldn't up his game to what Green wanted. It may not be the last we see of him though, he does have an opportunity to adjust his game and maybe add a more physical aspect. Hopefully he can reclaim the scoring touch he had in the AHL. He wouldn't be the first 4th liner to make a career of drifting back in forth between the NHL/AHL.
  6. I prefer one that likes the challenge of the honour.
  7. Ya never know though, Alf. Playing alongside Pettersson could have an effect on the memory part of his brain and transport him back to 2015
  8. Manny struggled for 7 years and played for two teams before finding his home with the Jackets. I'm pretty sure he was considered a bust by NYR and Dallas, considering he was a 7th overall pick. A late bloomer indeed. I doubt Gaunce will ever play C in the NHL, but he may find his scoring touch enough to get 25-30 pts, and along with his defensive acumen, he very well could be a regular in the NHL. I don't know if he can achieve that playing for the Canucks, where he is mostly assigned with defensive coverage along with linemates that have little offensive upside. Arch may have better net presence than Gaunce, but he doesn't have anywhere near the consistency. How may seasons have we seen Arch join the team, guns a blazing, only to fizzle out after a dozen games? I Gaunce doesn't make the team, I doubt Arch does either. Guadette is not in competition for Gaunce's position and will likely head to Utica for awhile.
  9. Nicely put, C44! Just like to add that Salo recently commented that Juolevi reminds him of Timonen (who was a teammate). I think all Canuck fans would be delighted to see that come about.
  10. It also appears that Guddy is playing like he wants to redeem himself. He is a key player for the Canuck's physical game this season. Fingers crossed that he stays healthy.
  11. I didn't see any chemistry with his linemates. Dahlen needs a playmaker to shine offensively; you know...someone like Pettersson. Switch spots with Goldy and Dahlen and I think you would see two very different players. Basically, I didn't really think Dahlen would make the team at the start of camp; mostly because he is waiver exempt. I think it's best to see if Goldy, given an optimum chance, can stick with the big team.
  12. I think Motte has good potential; especially in the current NHL game. That said, seeing as he is waiver exempt, I am quite happy to see him spend more time developing in Utica. He is the kind of player that will be part of the terrific depth the Nucks have going forward.
  13. I take it you haven't read the Brock Boeser thread.
  14. Hmmm...maybe he was whining too much about his ice time?
  15. It seems highly likely that one or both of Gags/Granny will be moved at some point as well, so I'd rather have Biega down in Utica helping out with all the kiddies. He is a versatile, scrappy high energy guy that is great for team depth as well.
  16. He's certainly not competing with Pettersson, Dahlen or Goldobin, who are top 6 guys and I don't see Gaudette playing 4th LW. I would say his main competition is Schaller, who is injured right now. I'm quite certain that Gaunce has been well aware of his precarious situation and has been working hard to improve his game this summer. I think we'll see Pettersson and maybe Gaudette make the team out of training camp and then others will follow in the new year.
  17. The highlighted comment sounds like his main competition for a spot on the team - Leipsic. I'm not a big fan, but I will wait and see how he does this year. This summer seems to be the first offseason that he has truly worked hard on improving his weaknesses and taken his conditioning seriously. With any luck, we just might see a much improved Goldy.
  18. I was thinking the same thing. Guy's a real hustler...got a real snoot full on the jumbo. lol
  19. Injuries and trades happen. A few months as the top line C in Utica won't hurt him.
  20. 1. Perhaps, but their were an awful lot of infractions that were not called Bruins were in their heads. 2. That's my point. That should have been a Bruin penalty, but instead they gave Sedin the penalty.
  21. My perspective was a little different than yours, although I agree is should never have happened. As I recall, the Canucks had a very good PP at the time (best in the league, I think) and I believe their gameplan was to draw as many penalties as they could. The team was encouraged to stay disciplined and let the opposition take the penalties. The Bruins took advantage of this; especially when they realized that the referees were not going to call the infractions. As far as I'm concerned, there were just too many instances where the refs just turned a 'blind eye' to what was going on. I think the team as a whole were 'broken' in that series (as were many of the fans). Gillis created a championship team at the expense of the future, so the (prospect) cupboard was bare. Different era. Speed and skill is winning games, so the nonsense that went on in 2011 wouldn't happen today.
  22. Yep and they're both physical players.
  23. “I just felt like the NTDP was the best spot for my development,” Hughes said via Mike G. Morreale of NHL.com. “I love my teammates, my coaches, the resources and love being able to put on the USA jersey. I tell everyone no one trains as hard as us at the NTDP. We’re working out in-season, skating four times a week, and playing games on top of that.”
