  1. Whatever. The point I was trying to make is that a good player doesn't necessarily make a good GM. BTW Sakic is hardly a GM.
  2. What? A Nuck fan that doesn't make sense? That can't be.
  3. Let me guess...you're not watching the game?
  4. Kes is playing? Haven't heard his name once.
  5. It's ok. The Comets outplay the Heat.
  6. Garth Snow, Mike Millbury, Craig McTavish and others are also players that became GM. The last statement is incredible. Why should he give up his life to do something he clearly doesn't want to do? He doesn't owe the current team anything.
  7. I think Bo will spend some time in the AHL until he's adjusted to playing against men. I can see him solidifying the 3rd line; centering Matthias and Kassian. The following season, he will probably make the jump to the second line. Of course, all of this will depend on trades and UFA's in the offseason, but it certainly looks like Bo will not benefit from staying another year in Jrs.
  8. Just because he was a great player and is loved by the fans doesn't mean he'd make a good GM. I don't think he (currently) has the qualifications or interest.
  9. The team crumbling is far worse. This fan base is always in some state of crumbling.
  10. Pretty sure you can watch the Panther games online. Should be a pretty good stream seeing as there won't be too many people using it. Hook your computer up to the big screen, then there you go.
  11. Shouldn't this thread be in the general forum? Last I heard is that the said player is on the Panther's roster.
  12. ...and still a distraction to the team.
  13. Burr doesn't need to learn to score, he's done plenty of that. He needs to stay healthy. Same thing goes for his linemates. And Torts needs to play them like AV did (offensive end starts and forget about this defensive nonsense). Players on the decline don't drop off that quickly.
  14. Higgins Sedin Kesler Booth Matthias Kassian Burrows Schroeder Hansen Sestito Richardson Archibald
  15. This is a great post, man. I just had to repost it so some of the clueless 'fans' around here might read it.
  16. What 'underperforming' players are you talking about? Lu? As far as I know, he's the only Nuck that has been traded. Again...LU WANTED TO BE TRADED. Should Gillis have ignored his requests and kept him here regardless? Matthias and Markstrom are going to be good, YOUNG additions to this team. I understand that it is disappointing to see Lu go, but FCS, it's what he wanted. He's probably celebrating on the plane all the way to Fla.
  17. Trading Lu was inevitable, hardly a rebuild (or did you really think he would be a Canuck for the duration of his contract). Let's see what happens tomorrow before we jump off a cliff.
  18. OK. So Lu probably can't get his ass out of Vancouver fast enough. He's the happiest guy on the west coast right now. Stop crying for him...he's over the moon now.
  19. There's no proven source that Kadri and Bozak were offered. Markstrom is not a 'no name' goalie. He is considered to have very high potential and if there's a team that can help him reach that potential, it's the Canucks. He is only 24yrs old, which is still very young for a goalie prospect. You will be surprised by Matthias. He will fill that 3C hole very well. With Booth and Kassian on either side, there will be a combined force of 642lbs coming down on the oppostitions d-men. All 3 are huge and all 3 can skate. Finally...Lu did not want to be here. He is very happy right now. So am I. No more Lu drama!!!!!
  20. People forgetting that Lu didn't want to be a Canuck? WTF Markstrom is going to be very good goalie. He has high potential and the Nuck staff are very good at helping goailies reach their potential. He was the AHL goalie of the month in Feb. Watch him blossom in Vancouver. Matthias will look really good centering Zack and Booth. He is a solid (and very big) 3rd line C. Best of all? No more Lu drama.
  21. Can't see anyone but a contending team being interested in Kes. He's a guy that could put a contender 'over the top,' but will go for a good price. Imagine how he would tear it up in the east (especially with a loaded team like Pits). Yikes! Another Selke anyone?
  22. I'm not a big fan of MG but I don't think we can blame all the woes of the Nucks on him. Trying to keep the core (who did get the SCF) together when the salary cap went down, along with the continuously low 1st round draft picks (due to having a winning team) has made it hard to improve. Right from the beginning of the season I considered this year a wash and that things would pick up in the next year or two. MG has some decent prospects coming along and with the cap going up, he will have more opportunities to improve the team. I am very interested in seeing what he does about Lu, as well as the possibility of trading a core player. I do believe the team is 2 or 3 players shy of being a contender again (and that's not counting prospects that may prove themselves next season). Unfortunatly, it appears that there are a growing number of players that do not want to play on a Canadian team, so it may be difficlult to make the changes needed. This of course will lead to gathering picks and prospect when making trades, so filling those holes will become more difficult.
