  1. The Canucks are in a pickle again. Lu clearly wants out of Vancouver and Lack is a rookie. They have to see what Eddie can do...see if he's for real before they can (once again) drag Lu's name around again in trade talks. I think Lack will be getting plenty of opportunities to showcase his stuff. As for the 'goalie making machine,' Eddie may be the end of the line. It's very hard to predict how the goalie prospects will do and it usually takes a lot of years to develop an NHL goalie (see Schneider and Lack). I just hope it doesn't turn into a media frenzy again and make the team look 'bush league'.
  2. C'mon guys, there's been enough wasted air on the Kass/Cody debate, do you have to extend it to Horvat? Let's give the kid time to develop before we start comparing him to other players. Let 'em play!
  3. I fell badly for Booth, as I think he (and the team) have had a lion's share of bad luck. If he could have maintained the stats that he had when he first came to Van, fans would have been very happy with him. Unfortunately, multiple injuries have degraded his performance, as well as his connection with his team and fans. Being frustrated by his poor play is one thing, but ridiculing him for his religious beliefs shows a lack of tolerance and maturity. I think he will be bought out at the end of the season. With the cap going up, perhaps a small market team might take him to bump up to the cap floor. Maybe the Nucks will even be able to trade him for a lower round pick. I hope that David will have a chance to find his game on another team.
  4. I don't know what's more painful; watching the team let these last few games slip away in the dying moments or reading the comments by fans that are jumping off the wagon. Hopefully this is just a rough spot for the Nucks, or maybe the flu has gripped the team. Most people have already realized that this is a 'gimme' year and not to expect too much. The cap hit along with prospects that aren't ready to step up has sealed this season, although there are still some positives. A lot of the players have improved their games and it looks like Kassian and Lack have solidified their places on the team. I think next year and the following year we will see a greatly improved team.
  5. Torts and his face palm after Sestito gets the penalty. Classic.
  6. Remember when Henrik b-slapped him during the playoffs a couple of years ago. Almost made me pee my pants I laughed so hard.
  7. 4-3 Nucks Garrison gets the game winner
  8. 4-3 for the Canucks 1st goal by Kesler
  9. Yer really pulling straws here, nuck nit. Kass could very well be better than Bickell this year or next. Who knows? Let's wait and see! Kass has 8 playoffs games; all with the Nucks. As I recall, the team has only played 9 SC games since he got here, so I guess he only sat out one. Unfortunately for Cody, the Nucks had a huge run of 25 games in his first playoffs, but he only got to play in 12 and SAT for the other 13. Oh, and he mostly played on the 4th line. We are all Canucks...right?
  10. Don't know. Back to back maybe. Just heard it on CBC -Corrado and Eriksson in.
  11. Corrado on d and Ericksson in goal. Hope Joacim has a good game
  12. I seem to recall CH playing on the 4th line during the playoffs as well. Oh yeah, in 12 games he got 1 assist Comparing Bickell at 27 to Kassian at 22 is ridiculous. Look at Bick's stats after being drafted in 2004. Not very impressive, in fact, he didn't really make the team until 2010/11 season. That year he got 37pts; the following year 24. Two goals in each of the playoffs for those years. He didn't really break out as a solid player until last year. Already Zack looks to double his stats from last year and will more than likely outpace Bickell's stats for his 2nd year in the NHL of: 71/9/15(24). And Zack doesn't get to have Toews and Kane as linemates. In all fairness, that gives Kass 4 years of development before he is comparable to Bickell. Patience, people.
  13. Just what we need -another rocket scientist around here. FYI it's doubtful that anyone who follows hockey thinks Gaunce is a better player than Horvat. Nuck fans will be thrilled when Gaunce steps into the 3C position and fulfills a role that has been haunting the team for years. Bo will be a top 6 player with Linden qualities and Bergeron skills. Saying that Horvat is on a 'whole different level' than Shinks is premature. It's likely Hunter would have made the Jr team if he'd been healthy. Their styles are completely different: one's a 2-way player; the other a sniper, so comparing them is a waste of time. Too bad some fans are so impatient with the young, developing players.
  14. Higgy's just living up to his projection as a #14 overall draft pick.
  15. I though the Bruin fan motto was 'injuries are no excuse'. At least that's all I heard during the SCF.
