  1. We will be facing better teams on a regular basis next season, so the Nucks will have to tighten up their defence. I hope they can still bring a decent offence (with the addition of a scoring 2nd line). Sure would hate to go back to the old defence style of years ago. No Vancouver Predators for me!
  2. The media in Vancouver would try anyone's patience. What a bunch of hacks.
  3. I said 'better team mate = Erikssen. The rest of what you have to say has nothing to do as to why the Sedins did so well in Europe. They obviously excel when they're not being crashed into the boards or clutched and grabbed.
  4. Larger ice surface, less clutching and grabbing, better team mate, teams of lesser quality (dmen) than nhl playoff teams.
  5. Most of the french coaches probably speak better english than you.
  6. AV will be scooped up by another team in a hurry. Guess you guys got what you wished for. Hope the new ? coach measures up to your expectations.
  7. This is very encouraging. A player that improves his game during the playoffs! Woohoo!
  8. 2013 Art Ross Trophy winner....undersized and old.
  9. Raymond Schroeder Hansen Is such a soft 3rd line. During the game against St.L it was really noticeable how Raymond was getting run over. It would be the same for Schroeder. I prefer Lappy on the 3rd. If Booth were available, I think a 3rd of Booth Schroeder Kass would be pretty good.
  10. That's an amazing stat seeing as his TOI is one of the highest for dmen.
  11. Jensen Gaunce Kassian :bigblush:
  12. Gaunce drawing that penalty at the end of the 3rd sealed it for the Colts. Kids going to be a good player for the Nucks. One of those big guys that don't take forever to advance to the pros. You gotta love a kid that has a great defensive game, scores goals and is a leader.
  13. I was just talking to a buddy the other day about Dale Hawerchuk. He was an awesome player and it is nice to see him building a coaching career. I hope he makes his back to the big league. Gaunce is looking like a great draft pick and may even end up better than many of the selections before him. He sounds similar to a (dare I say) Trevor Linden kind of person and player. Who's the favourite to win this match?
  14. The playoffs...like they usually do.
  15. Nice to hear Garrison getting some positive comments from Nucks fans. He's been coming along nicely for some time now and will be continuing to adjust and improve his game. He's got a great shot and will be our goalies favourite Dman in the playoffs. I love how he keeps that net cleared.
  16. I think that if Schroeder is to stay in Van, he has to adapt to the wing (and be good at it). Otherwise he's trade fodder.
  17. Salo was one of the Nucks best Ds over the past few years, but I think was getting precariously close to a career ending injury. He is lucky to be playing in a soft division. If he was still in the WC, I would wager that he wouldn't fulfill his contract. Garrison looks to be a very solid player. I suspect he will have fewer injuries than any of our D. He's a massive guy, who will be very effective in the playoffs. The goalie will love him. Given time, I think his fantastic shot will be utilized a lot. It will be a real surprise to unsuspecting teams.
  18. Agreed. You can tell that he is just going to continue to improve over the next few years. He really needs to adjust to the wing, as I don't see him jumping to the 2nd line as a C. Just like with CoHo, AV will continue to keep Kes in that position. Jordon isn't really the typical 3rd line C either. I would like to see him develop on the wing.
  19. I was just going to say this, as well as comment on the beating that our 1st line takes almost every shift. The top line puck possession game is probably the most physically taxing style of play around. They are constantly getting pounded into the boards or pushed to the ice by the best defensive players in the league. And on top of that, they are in such good condition that they rarely get injuries. Anyone who call the Sedins 'soft' isn't watching the game. And those of you still calling them 'the sisters' just f*** right off and go cheer for another team. We don't want you around here.
  20. That's what everyone was saying last night. He's coming around.
  21. Although I don't agree with you, I have to say that if this happens, it really should be the end of Mike Gillis. Reading this and the AV thread, as well as the comments on Booth and Edler only suggest that MGs decisions on contracts have been abysmal. Again, I do not agree with these opinions, but seriously folks. The people that are being critical of these moves really should be looking at the captain of the ship, not the crew.
  22. Gaunce's upside is 2nd line C, so I don't expect him to be a huge point getter. I'd like to see him continue working on his playmaking skills, defense and faceoffs. Hopefully the team won't keep switching him over to wing. Looks like he will have that versitility though.
  23. You're probably right. I would hate to see the team give up on such a young player. He was developing well before the shoulder injury, which has set him back big time. He needs some time to adapt his game and regain his confidence. I still think it is better for him to stay with the Wolves and learn the NA style of hockey.
  24. Garrison's play is improving with each game. Hopefully we will start to see the player that the management gave a sweet contract to. I think we need to wait a few more weeks and see how he's looking.
  25. "I know it seems far fetched cause Schroeder has been on the backburner it seems since we got him (and had high projections like Parise, Kane, exc.) But I could seem him in the mold of these 2 eventually myself."
