  1. Imo, JT is worth more in a trade and has a much higher cap hit than Bo. You never know when it comes to a trade though. Bo is reaching his prime and may turn into a monster in the playoffs for some team. But that would that mean the management made a mistake in trading Bo?
  2. Fify No way our team could handle losing 2 centers.
  3. What? A second round of interviews? Who is this guy...the 2nd coming of Wayne Gretzky?
  4. Yeah, I guess peeps are getting carried away with the fact that he surpassed Pete's scoring level as a rookie. What needs to be stressed is that he did it as a 21yr old rookie, while Pete was 18yrs in his rookie year. Not to diminish Linus' Strong performance, but he definitely shouldn't be compared to Pettersson. Adding a right shot C to our team is a good thing and if he excels; it's a fantastic thing.
  5. This will be a great series. Really like both teams and would be happy to see either one win the cup. All I ask is the games are fairly reffed. May the best team win!
  6. If he ends up a solid middle 6 NHL player, that would be a big W for the Nucks. Luckily Karlsson has other skills beside scoring goals. From what I've been reading, he also has a 2-way game, high hockey sense, size (6'1/186lbs), Can play RW or C-r, has improved his skating substantially, good stick handling and is a character player. In a year or two, he might end up being at least the much coveted 3C-r we've all been screaming for. At best, he might fill a top 6 RW role. It's all good.
  7. If the plan is to trade Miller, they will have to find a player that can help out Pete on the 1st line. I think they should pick up an older player that is still performing well (unless they are certain they can acquire a younger player on a longer contract. If they could pick up David Perron (34yrs) for 2yrsX5m) he could be a great fit. His game continues to flourish despite his age and he provides a physical presence. He would be an awesome mentor for Pete as he develops his game. He is also very good at shootouts. By the time his contract is due, they may have a LW that can take his spot.
  8. Lammy coming off his best season may be waiting to cash in on it. Maybe they're looking at Lazar just in case. Copp has always been stuck on the 3rd line, but moved to NY and proved that he could deliver top 6 numbers. If they're considering him, I bet they think he can step onto Pete's line to fill Miller's spot. He could cover some of Pete's C weaknesses. Mikheyev would be expensive for the 3rd line. Don't know if he has what it takes to be in the top 6 and I sure don't want hime taking minutes away from Podz. Leafs really want him back, so will make moves to get him.
  9. OK Bish, I may have misunderstood some of what you were saying. But I really like that you're a clairvoyant!
  10. The same could be said about what they're doing with Chychurn.
  11. Whether you drink alcohol, eat meat (or not), isn't the issue here (although it's interesting that you like that it might annoy people). Is there any indication that the video is recent? Do you know the status between him and his girlfriend? That's fascinating that you can look at a video and see 'the look of drunk guilt.' Have you never done something that someone else would think inappropriate? Well, 'nuff spent on a guy I do not know and never will.
  12. You need to hold your horses and wait 'till we see what happens over the offseason, Alf. Much like Sakik, JR has stated that the Canucks have some great pieces, but he doesn't think the team is good enough. Trading ROR and Duchene is similar to the Canucks trading Miller and Boeser. That is something that could very well happen in the offseason. This team does not need a tear down rebuild, but a retool makes a lot of sense. I can't imagine that the owner has no idea what JR is planning. As far as the team taking a step back...who knows? What is a step back for this team anyways? It's not like they made the playoffs this year. Maybe they can make the playoffs next season, if they get quality returns on assets and manage the UFA market effectively. Nobody is expecting them to be contenders, no matter what happens.
  13. And no butts in seats the year before. I can't think of a business that doesn't want to generate profit on a yearly basis. There's no reason why the (Canuck) business can't do both.
  14. It's hard to predict what FA will do. It seems like JR has been given the autonomy to do (whatever it is) that was agreed upon with FA. He hasn't said anything about a rebuild, but indications are that the plan is to get the team into the playoffs in the next couple of years and start contending in 3 or 4. The owner(s) of the Canucks forks out a lot of $ on the team and I would think the Covid years have created a huge hole in any profits. The bottom line, the hockey team is a business and the only way the business makes a profit is via bums in seats, tv contracts, marketing sales and SC playoff games. Can't blame a businessman for wanting to make a profit from his business.
  15. Exactly. We don't even know when this video was taken. Nuck fans sounding like a bunch of tea totallers. Priceless!
  16. OEL has never been even close to a 60pt dman in the NHL. Just once he had 55pts (2015 season), but overall, he should be considered a 40-45pt player. Still, he is a very good dman, that brings a lot more than just his offensive to his game. Unfortunately, he has had to partner with a defenseman that requires a degree of supervision, which makes it difficult to put up the offensive #s. He also plays on the 2nd PP, which gets fewer opportunities for points. Give him a partner that is defensively responsible and we will see and increase to his usual pt production. With those pts, his physical game, overall skills and minute munching operative, his value would be $6.5m. That's not a far cry to what he is being paid by the Canucks.
  17. I like the Kings a lot, but I don't know if they would be interested in Miller as they are pretty solid at C + LW (not near as productive as Miller though. They are really thin at RW, so they would prefer a deal for Boeser or Garland. I would be happy to see the Nucks trade for Matt Roy, which would give the management time to find a young RD that needs the development time to get him ready to play alonside Quinn.
  18. Most of the scouting reports indicate a top 6 winger. Of course those reports were when he was about to be drafted, so 4yrs have gone by. He's got good stats in the KHL; especially his playoff production. "A big, skilled winger that can play up and down the lineup and provide scoring in a number of roles. He brings grit and physical size, but could be more assertive in throwing his weight around more. Displays excellent speed on the rush and in zone entry, but could backcheck quicker. Plays well in his own end and takes away lanes. Very good hands and awareness. Kravtsov has the potential to develop into a staple top six forward that can produce at the next level. [EP]" I think he would start as the 3rd RW on our team and then compete for one of the top 2 spots later on. He would definatly upgrade the 3rd line to a scoring line.
  19. They're both very young and have big expectations on their shoulder; especially Lafreniere, who is expected to be a generational power forward type. He was pretty good in the playoffs (similar to Chytil, who is 2yrs older), so I think he will have a breakout year next season. Kakko, I think was struggling with injuries this year. I can't see the Rags giving up on these 2 players at such a young age. I do think they only signed Kravtsoff so they could trade him. My take on this is that the kid has asked to be traded, as he doesn't see a spot on the team anytime soon. https://nypost.com/2021/10/20/vitali-kravtsovs-real-reason-for-rangers-unhappiness/ "Our latest information, provided by an individual with knowledge of the situation, is that Kravtsov’s reason for refusing the assignment had nothing to do with his relationship with Rangers president-general manager Chris Drury. Rather, it was entirely based on his belief he would never get a crack at a permanent spot on the Rangers’ top six because wingers Artemi Panarin, Chris Kreider, Alexis Lafreniere and Kaapo Kakko were ahead of him on the depth chart." Chytil is trending upward now and Othmann will be ready for his NHL debut in the season after this coming one. I don't see anything that has changed, regarding the roster, so he is likely wanting to be traded elsewhere. Of course the Rags wouldn't want other teams to know this.
  20. I thought Kakko was a busteroo. Sorry NY...the price for JT has gone up. Schneider + Chytil + Kravstov + 2023 1st.
  21. Yes. He wanted to return to the KHL instead, which is what he ended up doing. This time he gets a 1-way. I have been hoping the Canucks would pick him up in a trade. He is going to be a really good player.
  22. Kypreos is hardly an insider for the Canucks. Stating the obvious about changes. The country club comment stems from a different era. Guys dredging the sanitary station for fresh news. Go slam your head on the ice again Kippy.
