  1. If he is as good as you think, he'll be picked up from the UFA market.
  2. I don't think it would be a good idea for Kane to sign with a team that has a fan base/media that view all hockey under a microscope. He should go to the highest bidder in one of the states that has other major league sports. That way he can be more anonymous.
  3. I believe he became a UFA at the end of this season.
  4. Tketchup is a pest and a shrinking violet when it comes to 'toe to toe' action. The Nucks can certainly use a big guy that can skate well (and manages the game between whistles) Kadri is a dirty player; plain and simple. The only way to deal with him is beat him up, or hand out crushing hits every chance you get. Hopefully he moves to the eastern conference this season.
  5. I don't know that Garland is enough for Marino. Losing Marino would cripple the Pens. Garland for Matt Roy ($3.15m) is more likely, as the Kings need someone to replace Brown and they have a boat load of RD prospects; a couple look ready to join the team. Myers is of more value than what many Nucks fans think. He would be the 2nd RD on the Kracken easily. Imo, Myers gets a 2nd or a decent player. Myers for Geekie (3C-r) RFA +/- $2.5m Berniers easily take Geekie's spot in their lineup. $10.95m (Garland + Myers) - $5.65m (Roy + Geekie) = $5.65m cap space.
  6. Yeah, I think the Lightning are proving that having the playoff experience of skilled and passionate vets is a huge asset. Really hoping they take this series away from the Rags.
  7. And they're paying the price right now. Could have had 2 cheap years (and playoffs) you idiots!!!! Lose Rags Lose
  8. I know you don't like his game and that he doesn't play defence, yet he has been in the league for 10 yrs (including 7 with the Avs) and will likely get another contract after next year. He's not playing in the AHL. Teams adjust to his game, but are more interested in his offensive attributes. Barrie may not have the defensive skills, but he's had a very good career despite his weaknesses. 10 seasons in the NHL and =$36m in earnings. For a 3rd rounder, that is outstanding.
  9. And yet he has just completed his 10th season in the NHL. So far, he has the 8th highest points overall in his draft and has earnings over $36M in the NHL and still going strong at 30yrs. Not bad for a 3rd round draft pick.
  10. Woot! MacKinnon is incredible. The lack of incessant ego is soooooo refreshing these days.
  11. I wouldn't want to see the Soilers end up with Grubauer. He's actually a really good goalie playing for a really awful team. No, they just need to keep on, keep on with Smithy.
  12. Yeah...love JT, but I could get to start hating him after watching him padding his stats at our team's expense. Really don't want that to happen. He's been so awesome for us.
  13. He had elbow surgery last week, which will take about 3 months to recover. Apparently a lot of injuries and surgery for several players this off season. More on Patrice... https://www.nhl.com/news/patrice-bergeron-elbow-surgery-future-with-boston-bruins-undecided/c-334485098

  15. If he were signed to a decent contract.
  16. What kind of return are you thinking Brock would bring.
  17. If the Nucks could swing this trade package, I would be ecstatic. I also love the trade for Crouse! The Kings have several RFA signings, including Durzi and Kempe, which could be quite pricey. I'm not sure that they want to sign a +8M contract for a C/LW when they have an abundance in that role. What they really need is a top 6RW. Unfortunately the Canucks RWs are not as valuable as JT, so they wouldn't garner an even close return in a trade.
  18. Yeah, he may not ever show at a 4th overall level, but, at 23yrs he had a +.55 pts a game record. Now that he's up for a new contract, I doubt it will be for more than $3-3.5m; same thing for Yamamato and $2-2.5m for McLeod. The biggest concern is that Koskinan is a UFA. So they're looking at +10M to sign the RFAs + Koski. 7 UFAs who will not be re-signed. They only have $7m cap space (which includes Klefbom's salary), so there's no $ to upgrade the goalie mess. They might buy out Smith and Kassian (if they can) and utilize the $ to upgrade the goal tending, but they sill won't be able to sign all the RFAs. I don't know what their prospect situation is like, but if they can't squeeze a couple of ELC in the lineup, they will be in big trouble putting together a complete team. Perhaps I'm missing something?
  19. Kane's played really well for them, but now they are facing their greatest challenge without him and he will surely be missed. What I was indicating is that it's more of a ringing endorsement for the overall skill level of the Avs hockey club that they can keep on winning without Kadri playing. Guess we'll see how things pan out tomorrow.
  20. Somehow, I think the Soilers need Kane more than the Avs need Kadri right now. It's the risk a GM will take when he decides to sign these guys that play on the edge. Ya win some; ya lose some. Wouldn't surprise me if Kadri is back in the lineup for the 1st game of the SC final.
