According to this forum, almost everyone thinks they are a better GM than Benning. That all the suggestions they have for him aren't stuff he and his team haven't talked about until they are blue in the face.
-
So why does he have to mention anything about where I live at all? It has no bearing on anything other than him thinking its fodder for lame insults. He derails threads with sad attempts at humour all day long. He's the worst kind of troll possible.
-
You're cool.
-
You're not even a good troll. Good trolls have limitless material. You have 3 lines at best.
-
You don't make any sense though. Lacks experience yet has 10 years experience. Opinion or not, you are implying that you know better than someone who actually does the job.
-
He's been on the job for 5 years and was assistant GM for 5 years before that. People who think he lacks experience on the business side must be brain dead. As a fan, can you honestly say to yourself that Jim needs to take your advice on how to run a professional sports team? A job he has 10 YEARS experience in doing versus your NONE. It's mind bottling. You know, when things are so crazy it get your thoughts all trapped, like in a bottle.

It's much easier to be a fan when you don't give a care about what happens off the ice. Try to stop caring about what management does and just be a fan of the team. Every winter, me, my wife and kids go to as many local junior A games as we can. I don't know anything about the players or the team other than they play at the same complex that I curl at. My daughter loves it. She thinks it's great when a hit shakes the glass right in front of her. Her enjoyment of being a spectator at the games has made me realize that who cares what is going on behind the scenes. So now I try to enjoy all sports from the perspective of a 3 yo and it turns out I really like it better this way. Yes I have an interest in what goes on, but not so much that it makes me upset at everything a management group does off the ice.

[Report] Jordie Benn to hit free agency
RonMexico replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Isn't that the truth. Someone is available. CDC - I'd take him. -
Same with all the other teams though. It's not like the Canucks are an anomaly here. Outside of every team's untouchables, most rosters are full of meh players that no one really wants to acquire.

[Rumour] Jesse Puljujarvi requests trade

Maybe he just sucks and that's why he never had any success to date. -
[Rumour] Jesse Puljujarvi requests trade

Worst kept secret in town. -
I'm not worried about anything management does or doesn't do. They have a plan and I don't care what the details are or how close they have stuck to it as long as it results in winning more games sooner than later.

NMC and NTC...loyalty coming full circle. At best we might get a 5th round pick if we can trade his rights.

HAHAHAHA Sedins were one dimensional players. Thanks for the laugh!

I rinse everything religiously. Pizza boxes are acceptable in the compost here.

(Rumour) Poolparty wants out of Edmonton
RonMexico replied to Nucksfollower1983's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I'd do it. -
As always, these threads digress. Recycling and composting has been a big deal to me for years. I typically have more compost in my organic bin than garbage in regular bin. Plus we easily fill a blue bag in a week. Yet plenty of times my bag was left because I had 'contaminated' it with a plastic lid or clam shell. Then they stopped taking glass. Then I start finding articles saying that most of my recycling ends up in a landfill because there are no programs to recycle it. It makes me really unhappy that you think you are doing something to help reduce the amount of trash yet it ends up in garbage mountain anyways.

My daughter just makes a mess with a straw so we don't let her use them anymore. She's 3 and can drink from a cup just fine. She had to wear her drink a few times before she learned but it was fast.
-
Part of the solution shouldn't just be banning these products, Canada fails at recycling them too. Recycling in Canada is a joke. https://globalnews.ca/news/5199883/canada-recycling-programs/

Straws are for toddlers or invalids.

(Rumour) Poolparty wants out of Edmonton
RonMexico replied to Nucksfollower1983's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
There was an alleged article in a Finnish newspaper that said Jesse is planning to sign in Jokerit that surfaced the other day. Agent denies everything. So no surprise TSN has latched onto it. -
[Rumour] Maple Leafs shopping Nikita Zaitsev
RonMexico replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Correct, this is the window to make trades and signings that bolster the current core - not to keep waiting for draft picks to develop. Sure you can draft and develop picks still but this team needs to acquire some already existing talent to make the move to contender. -
Hahahahahahaha chump change. How many people do you know that would kill to make like $33+ per hour. Not to mention time and half OT which as Gurn pointed out, is almost mandatory OT. You make it seem like they are working for free. And those dues you speak of helps them get that meager wage they earn. But really, outside of union dues, they have the same deductions as every other worker out there. CPP and EI cap out at that wage level so pretty much every paycheck after September doesn't have those deductions anymore. Sure it's a hard job, but they know this ahead of time before they accept the job.
