  1. I wasn't just referring to this specific league that you are talking about. But since I don't really want to play in this league, I won't clog up this thread any further by droning on about my fantasy sports gripes.
  2. I don't worry about the ridicule at all. I am an active trader in any leagues I play in. If I lose one, I don't care because I likely will have won 3 or 4 other ones. Trading is my favourite part of fantasy sports and over the last few years, trades are harder and harder to make because of the reasons I outlined above. That outlines another beef I have, too many rules regarding keepers. Just auto-draft a new team every year and you never have to worry about keeper rules.
  3. Keeper/dynasty leagues have somewhat ruined fantasy sports for me. That along with information overload from the internet, trade evaluators, live drafts and rate this trade forums have all made fantasy sports less enjoyable for me. Personally I would do away with keepers and live drafts. These are the two things that we all have grown accustomed to but in reality, they suck the fun out of making trades. Trades now are nearly impossible to pull off because of fear of ridicule for making a 'bad trade'. The evaluator says you lose! why did you do that?? Or Mr Expert said you should acquire that player, not trade him, are you stupid? Live drafting just gives you a chance to get the majority of the players you covet rather than try to make a play for them during the season. Keepers just allows you to never trade Jamaal Charles, Mike Trout or Sidney Crosby until they are no longer relevant no matter how good or bad your team starts and finishes. Anyways, I know I stand on an island mostly alone with this but I yearn for the days of making trades where you couldn't analyze them to death and you personally had to make a guess if it would benefit you at all.
  4. Every time I log on here almost everyone is dogging Vey like he is yesterday's garbage. He has had a decent rookie season. By decent I mean nothing special but he certainly hasn't been complete junk. But comparing a player who played a handful of games to one who has played 70+ is a terrible comparison. Whats to say that Baertschi isn't just trying to get noticed as he knows his last shift might be his last for a few games regardless of how he plays? Anyways I won't hijack this into a Vey defense thread any longer. I just don't see how anyone can compare the two.
  5. How come you aren't employed by an NHL scouting staff? Your talent assessment skills are off the charts if you can see this after a game or two. Oh wait, you are more than likely just a Vey hater.
  6. It's nice that he finally decided to show up on the score sheet for a game in March. No matter how you slice it production-wise, the guy had a brutal month and has had a mediocre season. I don't deny the intangibles he brings to the lineup, but I expect production from him.
  7. He better be warming up because he has been a non-factor for the month of March.
  8. It's the right move. We can't afford to throw any points down the drain moving forward and he was too much of a wildcard to gamble with.
  9. Another exciting signing today, QB Greg McGhee out of Howard University. MEAC co-player of the year. The guy skipped the NFL combine for a chance to play here. I can see why though, he has a chance to be a starter here rather then get drafted later inthe NFL draft and hold a clipboard and possibly never get a chance. Having a new head coach with many ties to American college programs looks like it's already paying dividends.
  10. He doesn't need to use the injury excuse. He has you to do it for him!
  11. So glad Geroy is back in the Den. Welcome back Geroy!!!!
  12. While he didn't confirm it, he didn't deny he is discussing his future....which basically means he will be quitting.
  13. They don't do enough to market their product to the casual fan. My friend commented to me last night during the Superbowl about how he had no clue that Anderson Silva was even back fighting. I only knew because of this thread. Just getting a bar to put up a promo poster isn't enough. To make matters worse, Silva quit after he won.
  14. Big body but doesn't play big.
  15. People still follow the UFC? The stars were household names at one point. Now it might as well be Jabroni vs Roodypoo.
  16. He hasn't played that role on the PP until recently (last half a dozen games). Even during his most successful years, he saw limited PP time. I will give him some credit, he is playing better lately.
  17. Ability to take abuse in front of the net is not unique to Alex Burrows.
  18. This is not a unique skill set at his cap hit. The team gets the same thing from Hansen, Matthias and Dorsett who are much more cap friendly and produce similar numbers.
  19. Selective reasoning. The 2nd line also got on the scoresheet when Burrows was dumped from it. Four straight seasons of 26-35 goals says otherwise. But you are right, he has lost a step and it's cost him the effectiveness he once had.
  20. Yes really. Before last night, he hadn't scored a goal in 9 games and had only 2 assists over that same 9 game stretch. I am not asking for a return to his glory days with the Sedins, but to houdini for long stretches of time while making the kind of scratch he does is not acceptable.
  21. Such nostalgia. Every now and then he looks like 'the Burrows of old' only to phantom for another dozen. He is now just an overpaid bottom 6 forward with sporadic production. He had a nice night, but these nights are just not the norm anymore.
  22. Being a heart and soul player is great and all but you still have to produce. The 2nd line's production has dried up and Burrows has looked like the goat lately.
