  1. What's Binnington jumping on Petey for after the puck was in the net?
  2. I think some are squeezing their sticks....Petey, Edler, Horvat......they're close
  3. Benn tried one of those Miller bank it off the D's skate tricks......not this time
  4. Happy to see Rick land on his feet so quickly. Fast action by 1040 is testimonial to his quality.
  5. I think it's a "one of" because Moj is away to do the Lions game on Friday
  6. Our $6 million dollar man is not short of cash. That's the issue.
  7. Actually Joe, I think it's just the opposite. Not only are they not funny, they're dim. What mystifies me is how C-Ball took Don Taylors TV host job
  8. C-ball is the real reason why I can't listen to the morning show. Dhaliwal was the voice of reason. He was mis-cast as the clown.....better straight man. He's a really good source for info. The real reason I don't like the station is the hosts do all the talking and are pretty much spit-balling hour after hour. How about some guests who actually know something? I get it, guests cost money. The station is going down. The big hole in the line up for me was the loss of Alex Auld. I really miss him at noon hour. He almost made a show hosted by Sat Shah listenable.
  9. Looking over their schedule, 8 of the next 10 games are winnable. In other words, if they're going to make the playoffs, 8 of the next 10 are against teams they should beat. Detroit St Louis * New Jersey Rangers Detroit Washington * Florida LA Anaheim San Jose
  10. Ha ha, you're right but I don't think that fan/media expectations are Petey's issue, those are the issues that fans and media have to deal with. Petey is seeing attention like he hasn't had before and he's going to adjust to it. In interviews he has said that he wants to get his shot off more quickly because he has less time. He also wanted to get stronger. So, he knows what he has to do. Now it's a matter of execution. Obviously it's not easy. Boeser is going through the same adjustment period just like all the players listed (Crosby etc) have done so before them
  11. Quinn said that he thought that he improved 5% by taking last year in college. It doesn't sound like much but sometimes that extra little bit is all it takes. Petey is struggling a little to start the season. He's the #1 target for D to try to neutralize now so I think we all get it. But one thing that I have noticed is that he is much better physically and although he's still only 176, he's stronger on the puck.
  12. The Flyers opened the season with a game in Prague. They beat Chicago 4-3.
  13. Management. Buffalo was really stable under GM Darcy Regier 1997-2013 and Coach Lindy Ruff 1997-2013 and took the team from a peak in 1999 when they made the SCF, through a renewal period and another peak in 2006-07 when they finished 1st in the north east with 113 points and made the conference finals. This was followed by missing the playoffs 2 years, and then making the playoffs with early exits for 2 seasons. They led the Northeast with 100 points in 2009-10. The GM/Coach combo was let go in 2013 and the team has missed the playoffs every year since. That's 8 years in a row which is eclipsed only by the Oilers in futility who missed the playoffs 10 years running and 12 of the last 13 years since making the SCF in 2006. Who can forget the epic tank in 2015 for McDavid. Anyhow, the Sabres went with Jason Botterill in 2017 who was poached from Pittsburgh and was only 41 at the time and was considered to be a top hockey mind with a great future. Botterill hired legendary Sabre, Phil Housley as his Head Coach and 2 seasons later, has hired Ralph Kruger. Kruger has had success in Europe and is also a cast off head coach of our favorite Oilers (2012-13) and former Chairman of the Southampton English football club (2014-19). He's a smart and talented guy but.....The club is on it's 2nd GM and 5th head Coach since 2013. I think we know that what they need is good people and stability. Here's hoping that they've found it.
  14. News flash, once the Canucks line up is complete, Benning is still going to be drafting as good as he can and trying to add better players. If you listened to Weisbrod at the draft, they are always going to take the BPA because you can't afford to whiff on your top picks ever. They always need players coming up because if you aren't getting better, you're getting worse.
  15. I really don't think they want him in Utica. What are the odds that Loui spends the final 81 games in the press box?
