  1. So Richardson is taking Motte's place and the other bottom 6 line is Petan, Podkolzin and Chaisson (pretty weak)
  2. I've lived in both cities and they're both great. Victoria is dryer and more temperate but Vancouver (and the lower mainland) has a much better economy and job prospects. Of course Van proper is too expensive and I moved to Abbotsford in 2016 and enjoy taking home more than I spend now. I bought a condo out here in 2014 and it has more than tripled in "value" When I first came to Van in 86 it was a class conscious place. East side / West side but the high cost of real estate is changing that as many people born on the west side have moved east and to the suburbs. Now, any Van address has cache
  3. This is happening within the US as well. People and businesses are leaving high tax states like California for lower tax states like Texas.
  4. I was impressed by Allvin's discipline in dealing with Motte. They wanted to keep him but not at the price that he wanted. I heard that it was double his present salary which is essentially $2.5. Boeser is another good player but not at his QO (7.5). He's barely worth his AAV (5.8) imo. I have a sinking feeling that Brock is on his way out (and so is Miller)
  5. A lot of people are pissed off about the Motte deal. Just wait until Miller or Boeser (or both) get moved this summer Jannik Hanson was on 650 today and he said he'd move both. He said it all depends if they think they can win soon or in a couple of years. I think we know the answer to that.
  6. Motte is great but how high can you go for a 4th line winger who already is making more than most when you're trying to lower your salary cap? Moving on from him is just the business of hockey. It's not going to make much of a difference if any on team performance. If he wanted too much they had to get an asset back before trading closed. And the return isn't low, it's market value. Here are some other players who went for 4th rounders recently: Brassard (Edm), Appleton (Jets), Wedgewood (Stars), Vatrano (NYR) Good move by Allvin
  7. Used to like Ritchie a lot back in his Canuck days. It was a mistake for Benning to let him go. He was 30 back then. Now he's 37. I don't know what use he'll be beyond depth. I assume that Allvin is taking a flyer on him hoping that he'll provide some leadership and help out Petan or will he take his place. We'll see if he's got any game left. He has only played 27 this season.
  8. pla·ton·ic /pləˈtänik/ Learn to pronounce adjective (of love or friendship) intimate and affectionate but not sexual. "their relationship is purely platonic" Who writes this stuff?
  9. When he came up, they thought he was going to be a stud and he was hyped. Didn't play out that way. Damn shame
  10. THG suggested prying a guy like Grans out of LA. Sounds like a better idea. 6'3" 206 19 year old Swede, 35 OA in 2020. 7-13-20 in 46 games in Ontario this year.
  11. You could say that, but at 321 games played and a 0.32 ppg average, Jost is what he is. A 3rd line player but Sturm is a 4th liner
  12. You just can't rely on the 4th line. They're great for a 4th line but the skill to finish is not there
  13. His 10th NHL game. Tough to come in on the buzzsaw that the Lightning can be
