Nothing like waking up in the morning and find my portfolio up $20000.... then suddenly go -$10000 within like 90 minutes. Jumped up to +5000.... then now -1000 -

Buy a farm, lol. -
I remember the one when his dad went off on why he's wearing the shirt with a name that's not Julio's... "So... your friend 'Nick' gave you that shirt? Why would you wear a shirt with the name 'Nick' when your name is Julio?!?!?!" "Umm... this is a NIKE shirt...."

[Report] Mikko Koivu announces retirement
Lancaster replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
A somewhat under-rated player... due to playing in Minnesota and the stigma of being a trap-first team. I always find it funny how different Mikko's style of hockey is from Saku's. -
I hope some of the personality like Donny, the Moj, etc... will at least go to the podcasting or youtube route.

Uranium is a tough market to understand. Everything points to it going up... but I've been in a few dogs that just worth a fraction of initial investment. The lack of political will in the First World countries with continuing nuclear energy makes it an industry many avoid. Places like China are still building nuke plants though... but I believe they have their own domestic uranium sources or they are sourced from CCP-friendly jurisdictions. I personally prefer owning the physical metal rather than EFT... but there is a markup to the coins and bullions. If an ounce of silver is 20 bucks, the coin/bullion probably sells for like $22-24. The markup are proportionally less once you buy large bars.... like maybe the 100oz silver bar will be only $2150 instead of the $2200-2400 if you purchase 100 separate pieces. If you are really serious about getting into precious metals, you have to decide on what your ultimate purpose is. You want it as a hedge and diversification, then large units. If you think it will be some type of collapse of fiat currency or some type of doomsday scenario where bartering will be the next "decentralized" economy... then smaller units are easier to trade with. I recommend checking out the Canadian mint for some of their products. I remember I got some $20 silver coins a while back that was like 90% silver or something. So if silver prices really tank... it is still $20 legal tender. If silver prices skyrockets, the silver will worth more. Purchased online with no taxes or shipping... so free credit cards points if you like collecting those (I certainly do!) -
I remember when I treated my friend from Korea to Game 2 vs Chicago during 2011.... she got the free towel and she was like... "Great! I needed a towel to wipe the counters at home...." I was like....

Canucks - worst defensive team in the NHL?
Lancaster replied to Quinn Skates's topic in Canucks Talk
The weird part is that on paper they shouldn't be that bad. Edler and Myers are still workhorses. Lapses here and there, but there's a reason they've been in the NHL for as long as they have been. Hamonic and Schmidt are legit top-4 defensemen. Quinn may be a bit suspect, but he's an offensive player first. Chatfield, Benn, Juolevi are down the chart and aren't the ones who are sinking the team defensively. -
Maybe the odd person who follow Doug Flutie in the NFL.

Does the opposite count? I got in at $200, lol. I was hoping it would bounce a bit for one more week or so. But hey... you never know.... VW (albeit different circumstances) had the same thing happen... only for it to really get short squeezed... -
If Bettman has his way.... "I hereby present to you... our new Stanley Cup champion.... the Red arMy Beijing!!! Congrats on the victory over the Canucks!"

The logic behind letting Tanev, Markstrom, and Toffoli walk
Lancaster replied to Patel Bure's topic in Canucks Talk
Nothing wrong with having Holtby instead of Markstrom. Not only is his contract shorter at only 2 years, it's only only $4.3 million per season. Lets not forget, he has been to the last 5 All-star game, won the Vezina back in 2016, Jennings in 2017, Stanley Cup at 2018, a Second Team All-star and also a First team All-star. He's also the same age as Markstrom too. -
I certainly hope that someone on the Canucks take a run at Marner. The hit on Quinn needs to be addressed. It doesn't have to be some tough guy or "role player".... just anybody. Best would be Bo, Miller or whoever. You want a team to believe in accountability, you need to stop off-loading your dirty work to others. If JV is in the lineup, that should be his main goal of the night.

Never a bad idea to sell for a handsome profit. I'm still holding until (hopefully soon) confirmation of the merger. Makes my GME purchase easier to swallow... -

I guess some on Reddit are wondering why Hindenburg would publish this so early. The stock could easily run up more which makes it a tastier target to short. A shot at Chamath for his recent tweet attacking short sellers? -
That's all most realistic fans want. He's never going to be a Bertuzzi or a poor man's Ovechkin. Fans just want him to be a Tom Wilson or Raffi Torres type player. Chips in 40 points, but physicality being his main attribute. The main problem is that Virtanen is a nice kid. He's just a faster version of Taylor Pyatt currently. A big guy... but kind of a friendly giant.

Not PC.... but biological male are male... biological females are female. Let them compete base on sex, not gender. If not... then what's the point of having separation between men, women, whatever.... just have open for all comers. Just remember to put things into perspective... top tier women athletes are roughly the same level as lower level junior men's. For example.... Serena Williams goes head-to-head against a guy who's ranked 200+. The Canadian Women's Hockey Olympic team can probably compete with Midget AAA teams.... the league below the levels of the BCHL. Any trans that transition after puberty would probably demolish the majority of women in whatever sport.

People usually can change, if not, then what's the point of all the PSA and whatnot telling people what to do and what not to do? Issues when he was a teenager and young adult.... not saying it doesn't play a role, but it's different when one tries to change as an older adult. What if Tony DeAngelo "wises-up"? Donates money to charity and organization fighting bullying, become an active participant in fighting bigotry, and more or less just "shut up and skate"? Would that be satisfactory?
