  1. Jake is a good kid.... just complacent and unmotivated. Tony DeAngelo is a determined and skilled player (with some warts to his overall game)... just with a huge attitude problem. Positive influence plus maturity could potentially help smooth it out. A racist POS could potentially stop being one over time. Sometimes they just need a swift kick to the posterior and a good wake up call. Also, it would be hilarious if he eventually goes to the KHL and signs with the Kunlun Red Stars, lol.
  2. He did get yelled at by Horvat during practice in the post-season. Where's Bieksa when you need him? lol
  3. I dunno dude.... Youtube has taught me that a Ferrari pick up more chicks...
  4. To be fair, the WSJ article doesn't mention anything new that the people following CCIV doesn't already know, although there does seem to be a negative spin on it. "A company with nothing but cash"... well yeah... that's what all SPAC's are. Not a lie, but seems to imply that nothing else of value is provided for Lucid. Then they used some random Reddit user from the Netherland to try to "get a feel". Trying to tie Reddit into this some way to somehow connect with what's happening with WSB. And that Reddit user is only up 30%..... that's noob numbers... That being said, the longer this is taking does make me nervous a bit. Of course, I did sell half my position in CCIV 2 days before the Lucid rumours came down the pipe.... I would be up a Ferrari right now if I didn't.
  5. I am just viewing this as a depreciated asset that can be redeemed to be flipped later for a profit. Lets just say the Canucks swaps him with Eriksson. Then Tony buys into the program and round out his 2-way game. After a season or two, the Canucks flips him out for a 2nd rounder. More or less Eriksson for a 2nd.... that would be a genius move by GMJB. Of course, it all depends on whether the organization has the team and culture to handle and mold such player. If it really messes up the locker room... it will also mean the leadership group and team culture isn't as solid as predicted.
  6. I don't mind the Canucks taking a flyer on him... assuming we can off-load a bad contract back, eg. Eriksson. But this all depends on how much DeAngelo is willing to shut up and buy into the program. If the Canucks leadership group is supposed to be strong and willing to hold each other accountable, then there should be no issues. I mean, I can't imagine DeAngelo getting away with anything if Bo, Sutter, Miller, Roussel, Beagle are in the vicinity.
  7. I've lost money in GME... but I just used "play money". It would really suck if someone really put their life savings.... but then again there are lots of people who also spend all their money at the casino too. At least for GME.... they can use the loss for future tax credits, lol.
  8. Wow.... CCIV.... I don't think there are any official news yet.
  9. The difference is that Chiasson plays his role decently. JV on the other hand.... he doesn't play like a bottom-6 or a top-6.
  10. Could just be some trying to relieve pressure on GME? I mean there are tons of articles, TV segments, etc all talking about how WSB are flooding into SLV. Yet pretty much every thread on WSB are telling people to avoid SLV. Some people out there are trying to change the narrative.
  11. Yeah, I did that. But with lots of clutter (toddler play area), maybe it's affecting it? Also, some shows have good vocals, some shows where I can barely hear them. Maybe it's an issue from the source?
  12. Got myself the Denon AVR-S720W along with the Sony SSCS speakers. But I have no idea how to really set things up. Vocals way too light, but background a bit too loud. Overall... still way better than just TV speakers.
  13. Hindsight is always 20/20. As you said, with the move away from brick and mortar retail, and plus Covid.... I would have been tempted to short the stock as it seems their future is uncertain at best. I mean... how many here actually go to EB games to buy stuff? I've probably spent like $500 buck there... over the past 20 years.
  14. A bottom-6 player with size and puts up about 30 points per season.... I guess the Oilers decided that they only need Connor and Leon to fill out their roster.
  15. I was just pointing out how quickly narrative changes at times. From where she was during the 90's to the 00's and to now. I'm willing to bet that there will be lots of articles coming out in the next few days and even weeks about "Pro-democracy, Nobel Prize winner.... ousted via military coup". Trying to put her into the best of light.
  16. I think it was back during the 80-90's. That's how she won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991.
  17. It's more important on how the team plays than anything. The 2011 Canucks were on average bigger than Boston... but when you're always turning the other cheek, it doesn't matter how big you are. The Canucks just need to always match the intensity and physicality of whatever comes at them. Having a big guy on the team is nice, but it does potentially lead to complacency. I remember there are nights when Gudbranson was still on the team and the Canucks were still being manhandled. Gudbranson will fight anyone, but it felt like no one else were willing to back him up. I'd personally rather have a behemoth on the blueline that's willing to throw hits.... like what Edler used to do. On a Edler related note.... seems like he's gotten smaller. I remember during his prime, he was like 225-230lbs... now he's like 212lbs. I wonder if he's just trying to be a bit bigger... or it's due to his back injury from years ago slowly catching up.
  18. So... is Aung San Suu Kyi now a champion of human rights again? It's hard to keep track with all the narrative change.
  19. The last thing you want to do is mess with CRA.
  20. Hamonic is the superior player.... but Benn is the "safer" player. Hamonic is required to be a 2-way defenseman.... Benn just needs to make the smart play and be defensively reliable. Benn does have the advantage of playing with the team last season, thus there's a bit more understanding and chemistry. Hamonic came in late and didn't have the luxury of a full training camp and preseason.
  21. I certainly hope so.... I would have more than enough to buy a Lambo to drive for each day of week
  22. I don't think there are that many people who believe that GME is some guaranteed path to riches. Lots of people have made their money and some with lots and lots of money.... but this whole things as been a meme. At the beginning, there were legit analysis with some noticing way over-shorting and thus an easy way to cause a short-squeeze via collective effort. Lots of pumping and meme'ing and it happened. Short-sellers got messed up. Not saying all short-sellers are bad, as they make sure valuation stays sane, but when a stock is 140% oversold... they reap what they sow. Even after receiving bail out money, many firms still keep shorting, thus making the masses to double down as well. As much money as hedge funds and other financial firms have.... the collective masses still have way more. Heck, I'm gonna throw a few thousands into GME once the market opens too. Ten thousand people like me doing the same and that's tens of millions of dollars. A hundred thousand people throwing "fun money" around and suddenly it's hundreds of millions. Is GME a bubble? Of course. I mean, it's freaking EB Games at Metrotown. Sure, I go there to pick up some second hand games once every blue moon... but I can't really see it surviving long-term. More importantly, it shows the hypocrisy and collusion that is happening between the powers-that-be, the media, huge corporations, etc.
  23. Max out your credit cards and take out a second mortgage /s But in all seriousness, what is being discussed here is almost akin to gambling. Although some recommendations were provided many pages back prior to this whole WSB GME situation. When deciding to enter the markets, you have to decide on what your ultimate goal is. Planning for the long-term like retirement or RESP for your child? More medium term goals like saving up to buy a new car or down payment for a home? Perhaps very short-term play where you are willing to lose your hand at times? If you want to just jump into the whole AMC, GME, etc action... just whatever you would normally be willing to lose if you went to Vegas for a weekend trip. It could be a few hundred bucks or a tens of thousands, it really depends on your personal financial situation and tolerance.
  24. I think Robinhood may be one of the parties bailing out a hedge fund or something. Potential conflict of interest happening.
