I don't know where I am. Is Palmu the fish farmer from Peace river who couldn't look up the tides and solar eclipse data that is literally two minutes of work ahead of time and now there's an Atlantic invasion of protected Finnish Salmon that he sometimes would fish, but cant fish, resulting in an invasive species of knee injuries that has the potential to cost him 2-4 weeks of hard labour in a gym that he needs to take a ferry to?

Well most NHLers who were beasts offensively in the lower levels didnt have great defensive play. Thats my point. He already is a beast offensively at the lower levels, on top of that he competes hard in all 3 zones. He could be a two way force for us one day.
-
He already plays defence better than most 18 year old's who are defensive minded forwards.
-
His arms are stronger than my legs for sure lol

Recovers from a bump, Anyone know how much this is? 45+45+22+10 on each side even close? I don't lift, so just guessing lol That would be 240ish + the bar

Pretty confident JB or TL said he was 198 at prospects camp.

What's done is done. Our job is to help people who have law breaking issues recover. I say we should just give him a river where he can fish and go from there. Time to forgive our pint sized prospect for a small offenese.

Will he be known as The Eel? He has a way of slither and sliding his way past guys.
-
If we want to summarize it, I guess we could say his play without the puck needs some work.
-
Wait wait wait wait wait..... Has anyone thought about calling Brock... The BB Gun? Its a natural fit.
-
My only hope is that they dont send him down to "work on his defensive game" or something. That is always a creativity killer. If he gets sent down it should be with the mindset to score as much as possible and earn a top 6 call up. Will he have a learning curve in the NHL on the defensive side of the puck? Of course, but as a franchise you need the guy to be a 60 point player with decent 2 way game in about 3 years. Let it happen naturally while he uses his best assets to take him where he needs to go.
-
Agreed. If players dont pick up what hes putting down they might get sent down!

Green loved Higgi when he went down to the Comets. He doesnt think less of vets as long as they play the right way effort wise. I'm very hopeful he can help those guys who have been here longest find that magic again.

Injuries will give him a long look. No point in losing an asset who is a flexible bottom 6 player with good defensive acumin for nothing. If he starts to score then great!

Im wondering if Gaudette can hit 60 points this year in the NCAA. Its not easy to do, but it would be nice to see him keep progressing offensively.
-
Young stars will most likely serve to show he's either not ready or he deserves some extra looks in thr preseason. I wouldnt be suprised to see him play 9 games in the NHL or AHL and then go back to Sweden either. Similar to what Joel Eriksson EK did with the Wild this year

Pesonen is a 35 year old LW who has scored around 1 point per game for most of his career in Europe. Had a down year in the NLA last season. Should be a good addition to the Lakers though

The thing with Goldobin is that he's all honey no badger. Desperatly want him to take the next step and show the skill with the work ethic on the ice. I think he works hard at his game and strength, but the problem is when he's not scoring he's not providing a lot of other helpful attributes. I'm sure he has gone through some slumps before and had to get out of them. The eye test just doesn't make him look like he's trying that hard sometimes, even if he is. That is really the only negative I have with him. Similar to Gaunce in junior, he just looked like he was waiting for the game to come to him a bit too much. Not a bad thing to do, but there is a fine line.

Officially re-officiafied. Happy for the kid.

If Green is content I am too. He's not an easy guy to please. I was a similar size to EP at his age. I couldnt put on weight mostly due to excessive cardio and not enough proper nutrition/weights. Starter doing some different exercises for muscles I didnt use much and put on 10 pounds in 2 months.

Not a fan of Dahlen? I dont think Petterssons game is suited to the wing at the pro level.

I don't know if this year is about developing chemistry as much as its about learning to play a more physical game at a higher pace. Most young players struggle with consistency more than anything and I think it will be the same for all our prospects making the jumo to pro. Shift to shift effort and fine tuning details are an important learning curve. The way our system has been developing players is focused on the details in the first year pro and then more offence in the second year. Other franchises focus on offense first and then the details as players get older. Some prospects need it one way and some the other. Bo was a defence first player, Granlund was an offence first player, same with Baertschi. Goldobin was also offence first and now need to learn the details. Virtanen is d first, hopefully this season will show his offence.

Hey welcome to CDC. Happy to have your input around here First question is, who are the best players under contract for Vaxjo for next year? Seems like a lot of players moved to other teams, or to the NHL. Cheers
