  1. Typical OP do something because I'm "ADD" post on CDC. GO OUTSIDE AND RELAX!!! HUG A TREE OR SOMETHING!!! Gillis did a great job adding 3 NHL players in Stanton, Richardson, and Santorelli! He also made a great trade of a nobody prospect and a 4th for 2 young depth players! All this for like 3.5 million dollars in cap. We all know Gillis record on big trades, and I preferably don't want him to make one. Be patient and wait until next year when we have a chance to add our own good youth and potentially a good UFA (Gillis is good at signing UFA's) Stick to your guns, If you suck at big trades, don't trade. If your great at adding UFA's (Richardson, Santo, Hammer, Garry, Lack, Archibald, Fox, McEneny) keep adding that way. Getting better at drafting, and small trades We could get a top 16 pick this year, and still have a chance in the playoffs = win win.
  2. 1G 1A for the Beast Archie today. 3-2 Utica win.
  3. Ya noticeably bothered by something. Still one of Canada's best though. Should be up to 4 points in 4 games if it wasn't for the call on McD yesterday.
  4. HIs goal was pretty slick this weekend.
  5. 3 apples today for Evan. Also weird that the OHL has him listed as signed by PHX as a free agent lol
  6. I heard they went in the net. Havn't seen the video yet though.
  7. Beauty. You won't regret that unless they change jersey's before he becomes a Canuck lol. But seriously that's epic, I have just as much stoke for the guy. He's going to be in our rafters one day.
  8. There are such minute differences between some of the guys selected and some that were not, it's always going to be a what if they took him instead. Sucks cause we will never know!
  9. So you wouldn't want the guy voted best Defensive forward by the coaches of the OHL who accomplished this mainly on the big ice in Belleville as your checking line centre, instead take a guy who hasn't played much on the big ice in Gauthier for the same role? I agree with the needs more Jam, but positionally Gaunce is way ahead of Gauthier, especially on the big ice. He would be a great shut down centre who passes extremely well, something Team Canada has been lacking.
  10. I just figure that someone who perhaps followed Keslers development would know he wasn't a great shooter in his early years. I'm pretty sure, Luongo said Gaunce has a good shot in training camp this year. Getting praise from a veteran goalie who's faced some of the best shooters in the world, and Kesler on a nightly basis would bode well for a 19 year old, as far as how good his "Overall shot" could be, but I'm no expert. Maybe you'll be right and Gaunce won't be a great overall shooter, but he's ahead of Kesler at the same age, if he works as hard as Kes did on his shot, he could get there.
  11. Can we start Canada with the # BoKnows during WJC? I think we can do it. Would be pretty cool for all of Canada to have such a great appreciation for Bo's game. Also, him and Reinhart are about the same age. I like Sam's game too, he makes good plays all over the ice, good on the boards for being a little undersized too. Hope they stick together and build some more chemistry just because.
  12. Comparing Gaunces shot to Kesler's at the same age is hilarious. Gaunce's shot is literally miles a head of where Kesler's was at the same age. Maybe you weren't around when Kesler was 19, but he was a checking center who could skate well, but wasn't a great shooter by any means. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=67780 Kesler only had 11 goals in his 19 year old season of college hockey. He also only had 3 goals in his first season in the A. He worked really hard on improving his shot, and broke out in his second season in the A, with 30 goals as a 22 year old... Guance already scores pro style goals, and he will translate better to the pro game than Kesler did at the same age. If he works really hard, he could be better than Kes, potential is there.
  13. They said before today's game that only Petan was good in the draw vs Sweden. Horvat was probably only like 55% so that's not good enough by his standards lol.
  14. Not all people are blessed with the gift of optimism.
  15. I still think Gaunce would look better at WJC than Gauthier. Good defensive center who passes very well. Good on the draw. Kills penalties like a pro. Wish Sutter valued his intangibles higher than whatever he thinks Gauthier does offensively.
  16. I think Zack will be more useful to us long run than cody would have been. Cody has skill, but he doesn't have will. Gotta have that will to win, and Zack is starting to show that effort that gets you W's
  17. Can you blame them though, CMD is only 16!
  18. So we go from having no depth at centre to being able to trade our second best centre at the junior level in 8 months. I understand the reasoning, but it's not good to put all your eggs in one basket. I'd rather have Gaunce as a possible C/LW prospect than pick up a dedicated W prospect. Only way he's dealt is if we are getting a really good young NHL player who is already producing. Other than that, he's going to play some games in the A this year post playoffs, and we will be able to see what he's got at the next level.
  19. He's got the hands to be a good Offensive D man, hope he gets a good long look at the pro level. Could even convert back to a W if things didn't work out in the D zone.
  20. Hey isn't this Horvat's thread? I love arguing about what player numbers mean, but maybe we should get this back on track. What does everyone think about Bo playing with Mcdavid and Reinhart? That's a pretty young line, but putting Bo with two potential 1st overalls will be pretty awesome to watch. Show's Sutter has a ton of confidence in Bo's game Offensively and Defensively.
  21. I forgot Corrado was a regular, that's why his number changed right? How's he doing this season? Havn't seen him in many games...
