  1. Those Jerseys the canucks gave out in the summer. Gaunce 50 Jensen 46 Horvat 53 Shinkaruk was 48?
  2. He's going to wear 53. Funny thing is the org doesn't like big numbers, yet all our prospects have been givin big numbers!? Pretty weird if you ask me.
  3. One might even say he's got a good melon on those shoulders... I hope we don't move him. Before the 2013 draft Gaunce was our guy. Now everyone is saying he's not as good as we thought. Fact is he's not as good as Bo, that doesn't mean he's not a great player, and prospect for this organization. Gaunce could easily become, a Manny Malhotra type with a better shot, and better passing ability, lacking in the fighting department. How valuable was Manny to us?? We couldn't replace him for 2 friggin years! I'm a big believer in Gaunce, and the way he stepped his game up in the playoffs last year, was exactly what we need. Another thing is that he scores "pro" goals. He scores in the areas where a lot of goals in the NHL come from. Many people believe his production will translate over to the pro game very well. Think about where Santo's goals come from, in tight around the net, rebounds, fast breaks. Gaunce will score from those same areas. Might not have the work rate Santo does, but by the time he's 28 he could easily be better in that area.
  4. Bo played centre between McDavid and Sam Reinhart today. Sutter is going to try and keep those lines together to create some chemistry before Fridays game apparently. Not sure where Shinkaruk was practising, Drouin moved to Petans Left wing with Lazar on the right I think.
  5. Yup. When he's playing with Kes and Santo. His shot's been pretty good this year, but he needs to be more elusive with it. Everyone knows he's going to shoot, and in the playoffs some of those won't get by good goalies unless he's looking them off or is shooting before they are set. Nice thing is I really think that we could slot in Booth or Burrows with Kesler Santo, and have a good line still. Those two guys are playing great.
  6. Stoked that our NCAA prospects are looking pretty good right now. At least 3 of them. Not good that Rodin and Kenins are injured though. Also Blomstrand's 7 goals are a nice a good sign for him.
  7. Can't find the thread for the Quest for the Cup SNET show, but new episode is on tonight (Sunday) at 6! Figured it could be Horvat Talk.
  8. Consistency is key. He certainly plays better when he wants to, and Torts knows how to help him get there.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised if he was Canada's best player by the end of the tournament. Drouin is real good, but coming off a concussion isn't easy. If I was Sutter I would put whoever is going on that day with Bo in the third. Hopefully we will see him and Shinkaruk on a line at some point.
  10. WTF!? Where the high sticking call?? Also I hope Cherry rips into the guy who turned himself into the boards while also bending over... Stupid play that needs to be out of the game. The hit's are fine, it's the friggin forwards who are putting themselves in these positions...
  11. 2 Apples last night for Maine in there 7-1 win. Devin shore had 1g 4a's... Wasn't a close game from the looks of it at all. He's putting up the points for sure.
  12. Nice little video on Bo during period break today. Didn't know he wears 53 in memory of another player who was drafted to the knights at the same time as him and passed away. Second line at the WJC Camp today as well with Hudon and Mantha.
  13. False Gaunce will be a Utility forward for us in the Top 9. His Smarts will put him ahead of any 4th line spot. Who does Tort's put into the top 6? --- Guys who Process the game at a very high level. What is Gaunce's strength as a hockey player? --- How he processes the game... He's too smart and works too hard to not be in the top 9.
  14. Beastvat. Can't wait for this guy to dominate at the next level, and at WJC
  15. Snubbed on the three stars though. Makes me wonder if he had some rebound goals tonight.
  16. He's a good young prospect, also has been beastly in the playoffs, and when it comes down to it I'd rather have a great playoff performer than a great regular season performer. That's what MG is building.
  17. Derp...

    Anton Rodin | RW/LW

The is A checkers league for sure.

Can you imagine if he came over next year and had an impact. Would be craaaazy. If he maintains a point per game at the SHL maybe he would consider coming over to Utica after his SHL season is done. Anyone know if that's even possible? I think he would be able to play for the Comets??
  19. Anyone we trade east will get better, case and point, Grabner, Raymond, frick even Wellwood. I know the Jets are in the West, but it's not the pacific on a daily basis. Half the teams in the top 12 in the league are form the Pacific. I wouldn't be surprised if 6 of the top 10 in the league at the end of the year were from the pacific. Safe to say any player we bring in via trade will probably be worse than where they came from unless it's a pacific teams player.
  20. I think the next thing he can do is dominate World Juniors... Then the OHL playoffs (again) and then the Mem Cup. If he's still got some in the tank maybe even slip into a playoff game for the nucks if we make it.
  21. Horvat will make our third line a lot better next year, and probably make Kassian a better player too.
  22. He does shine on the PK for sure. Couple shots and a couple nice passes.
  23. Wasn't a very exciting game. Horvats cousin had some good moments though. Gauncer was decent, Didn't look that interested in the game to be honest, also had a awkward fall in the middle of the ice that looked like it hurt a bit. Stayed in the game though.
