One might even say he's got a good melon on those shoulders...
I hope we don't move him. Before the 2013 draft Gaunce was our guy. Now everyone is saying he's not as good as we thought. Fact is he's not as good as Bo, that doesn't mean he's not a great player, and prospect for this organization.
Gaunce could easily become, a Manny Malhotra type with a better shot, and better passing ability, lacking in the fighting department.
How valuable was Manny to us?? We couldn't replace him for 2 friggin years!
I'm a big believer in Gaunce, and the way he stepped his game up in the playoffs last year, was exactly what we need.
Another thing is that he scores "pro" goals. He scores in the areas where a lot of goals in the NHL come from.
Many people believe his production will translate over to the pro game very well.
Think about where Santo's goals come from, in tight around the net, rebounds, fast breaks. Gaunce will score from those same areas. Might not have the work rate Santo does, but by the time he's 28 he could easily be better in that area.
