      Demko's worth more to us as an asset than he is in a trade 

       

      Goalies rarely get that kind of return, I'm not sure it's happened since Schneider tbh and he was more proven

      Goalies are almost becoming the running backs of the NHL now; there are many to choose from, most teams are fine with a competent one (having a star is a luxury, not a necessity) or a competent pair by committee, and most teams feel they are the most replaceable piece, and are okay going with cheaper options to build a better team around them.

      Those last 2 years of Marky are going to be rough imo.  I'd rather keep Demko.  The Chicago model for goaltending works.
