  1. Then id expect you to understand that physicality is part of the game… Edit: and its not about fighting for me. Its about showing emotion. You can be the best leader in the dressing room all you want. But the real game is played on the ice.
  2. Tell me you’ve never played real hockey without telling me you’ve played real hockey… (tier 6 ankle skaters Hockey doesn’t count) Don’t get me wrong. I like Horvat. I just don’t think he is doing everything in his power to win. In fact I I think he's rather apathetic. He looking after his own interests… A contract year and he’s scoring. 4 Fights in his NHL career. how many hits? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was less than Pettersson. He’s the captain and he is going to be the one who carries the burden. And I place the blame on his shoulders for not leading this team. All he has to do is show this more than 4x a decade… And only 1 of his 4 fights was sticking up for someone other than himself.
  3. At least he shows emotions. And those things can be taught and when the team is wining things will go better. Bo is as much a leader as a soccer ball in a ball diamond
  4. Kessler played a tough game and was a huge reason his teams made the playoffs and went far in the playoffs. He had to mitigate the toll on his body. Bo’s the leader and has led this team into being a bunch of soft bend over and take it “pussy’s” just like you said. Hes the biggest player in the NHL who has gone the most games without throwing a hit. Thats not the kind of leader that takes a team to the NHL playoffs and beyond. Ill be happier than a pig in shit when Soft as butter Bo is traded.
  5. Bo is a hockey player. He signed up to play hockey. Joe sakic wasnt a big hitter. But he hit. Bo isn’t doing everything he can to lead this team and it’s evident by the way he plays. Sell him before the end of the season and make miller captain. Hes the closest player we have to a superstar right now. And he will make big hits when the timing is right.
  6. Did you read the article? Watching him play is the evidence hes soft Him going to a more flexible stick because “it easier on the body” is not surprising. He clearly doesn’t care about laying it on the line for his teammates and fans. Might be a bit of a stretch but hey, Say something like “easier on the body” while being a hockey player maybe its time to find a new job. Which, thankfully the writing is on the wall, this will be soft as butter bo’s last season here.
  7. Isn’t that what the good teams usually do? Shut down the other teams scorers? Thats why secondary scoring (deep talent) is so important. No one expects petey to go out and be perfect yet. Hes still young and growing. The captain on the other hand is 27 and 6’ 215 lbs and he barely plays with any grit and toughness. You'd think the captain, especially during hockey night in Canada, and in his hometown, would want to win and make an impact. Read an article about Horvat changing to a different stick - more flex, one of his reasons was its “easier on the body” if thats not a tell tale that he doesn’t care about winning he cares about a paycheque. Maybe he should quit and find a job testing pillows. Some of you may say “If he’s injured he can’t play in the playoffs”, Well if the team doesn’t make the playoffs he can’t play there either. This anger and resentment for horvat has been brewing for years, he has built a reputation of being soft and not sticking up for teammates. Turn the other cheek style play. I don’t like it, and don’t want a captain who’s as soft as charmin toilet paper. https://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/nhl/vancouver-canucks/vancouver-canucks-bo-horvat-same-scorer-but-with-a-new-stick
  8. Being hard to play against wins games. Being soft as butter so you don’t get hurt helps you and not the team. Not a hater just hate loosing unlike softie Bo who has zero emotion. But he’ll get his payday
  9. 1/5 season and he is close to top of league in goals in a contract year during his peak physical years and everyone has his jock strap in their throats… I like Horvat. I just don’t think he is leading this team. 10+ years of loosing and he still doesn’t know what it takes to win. Gives himself a pat on the back because he scored a goal in his home province but lost the game. He’ll make a few more millions and drag the team down that he plays for because he doesn’t want to sacrifice his body for the cup. Trade Horvat now while he is “worth” more than he ever has.
  10. Yet the team keeps loosing. He’s the captain throw a damn hit.
  11. Oh Captain my Captain has as many hits this game as the 3 gnomes on the team… Hoglander, Garland, and Hughes. show some passion Captain Bo. Not just the show me the money play
  12. There is no such thing any longer. Its been proven that the NHL manages games, players have given up on playing hard. Its the WWE. We should call it NHE from now on. Why should the players risk covid/concussions/broken bones etc etc. can’t hit someone anymore. look on the bright side. We could have 4 players making over 40 million and they are more worried about how their earrings look on national television, than the whole city throwing them off a cliff for loosing in the first round of the playoffs again
  13. Points are up all over the league. That and were talking about the Vancouver Canucks here.
  14. Interesting how a contract year will do that. Hopefully management will trade him for more than a bag of pucks. We can’t afford to keep him and he’s not a complete player. So let’s trade him while he is worth something. I will not be sad to see him go.
  15. Perhaps, I’ve been a fan for 40 years, but wasn’t alive during the early expansion years, (sorry about that) having said that it’s the same old argument every year; “people who don’t support the team when they are not good are not true fans” which couldn’t be further than the truth. A fan is a fan regardless. There are fair weather fans, there are bandwagon jumpers, there are die hard fans who go to every game, there are fans who wear their Canuck gear out in public even when the team isn’t playing… etc etc. It doesn’t matter what type of fan someone is. I do get irritated when numb nuts’ get upset at the fans who are are upset after 52 years of sporadic winning and a ton of mediocrity sandwiched in between. It’s almost as if some of these so call “super fantastic fans” think they are… gasp… superior than others. The team makes money off of fans, if there were no fans the team wouldn’t exist. Doesn’t matter what type of fan you are if you like 1 player on the team or like the team but not many players. Everyone is different. Im thankful quite a few Canuck fans are willing to boo when they are not happy. Because we would still have Coach Sarcasm and the Brady bunch running the show. At least we now have some direction and management willing to blow things up.
  16. Lol. If you want to hang on to threads of hope for the next 50 years go right ahead. Statistically speaking 1 in 50 years a team miiiggght do that. Key word “might” I remember back in 2013 calling on the team to tank for top prospects. hmmmm look at all the amazing players we’ve missed out on. And now we have a team loaded with bubble players and 3/4 hard ons because of greedy owners who want butts in the seats for 10 years of barely missing the playoffs.
  17. I don’t know what hes talking about. Flames game was just over 100,000 the other day at the end of the game… not the first period. Maybe hes talking about world jrs?
  18. Unfortunately a tank is what should have been done years ago before sedins retired. Knowing penguin management they may be trying for a tank. Chances are too low to create a cup winning team with a retool. You just need those top draft picks. Members here have argued with me extensively on this. But they know im right. Not to say this team doesn’t have potential. I just don’t see anyone on the team that can take over a game or playoff series. Looking at past 20 cup winners you can see that it takes a few top draft picks to make the team push long and hard in the playoffs
