Linden was the youngest Captain of the Canucks. Linden went second overall, Horvat went 9th. Horvat doesn't come close.
Gotta see who the player is, Yes there are players that develope straight out of the NHL but some players get there not because it's best for thier developement but because there are no other better players for the team that's available. We can say Horvat is doing this or doing that but imagine if Horvat spent a couple of years in the AHL rather than the NHL, wouldn't Horvat would have dominated the AHL and come out a completely different player?
For the sake of Jake, I hope they don't call him back up until next season. Good for progression and better than being apart of the mess that is going on right now in Vancouver,
Jake needs to go to Utica period and learn the game at the AHL level and playing more period. Not everyone can be Bo Horvat but many people can be Burrows, Hansen, Tanev, Kesler, Schneider and Bieksa.
The problem with the Vancouver real estate market is simple, there is simply too much demand than the supply that is available. While Vancouver is increasing in population, the amount of high- residential buildings getting built is not catching up. Vancouverites simply like thier scenery and lifestyle too much to let so many high residential buildings get built quickly. As of result too many big houses taking up the space that otherwise could have housed over a thousand people by simply building up.
Apartments are more affordable than homes and if there were more built, the prices would become more affordable.
With Granlund, I doubt Gaunce would crack the center position barring an injury, pitting Gaunce in the fourth line can free up Burrows for second/third line duty.

With Baer, I still want to see him chasing a playoff spot.
McCann seems to me like a second line or bust type of player with Horvat and Sutter, McCann just wasn't going to do it. Personally I have a bit of a soft spot for Gaunce as he was slowly brought up by Vancouver so hopefully he can be that rough winger Benning is looking for. Baer needs a little more strength to get into the hard areas. My thing with Baer is I need to see him do well in games that count.
This guy is going to be a 6 million dollar defenceman. The way he adjusted to the NHL in such a short time to the way he manhandled some of the opposing players. With a little more work on his shot and accuracy, he's a future number one pairing defenceman,
