  3. Drafted in the 2nd round, 37th overall. Young kid who has the size and some room to grow. Clocking in at a healthy 201 pounds, I'm excited to welcome Jett to the Nucks! Loved this kid in the pre-draft interviews. Fun fact: His Chinese name means Leader on top of the hill , or something along those lines. Correct me if I'm mistaken on that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVswJjO5ULI I think Sid summed the kid up pretty well:
  4. TROY STECHER views: 13762 BIRTHYEAR 1994-04-07 BIRTHPLACE Richmond, BC, CAN AGE 22 NATION Canada POSITION D SHOOTS R HEIGHT 180 cm / 5'11" WEIGHT 87 kg / 192 lbs Highly skilled two-way defenceman that displays tremendous poise with and without the puck. Soft hands that can pass as well as let rockets fly. Excellent vision and a playmaker's knack for the game. Very aware and responsible defensively, but is not comfortable having the puck in his own end for too long and will take it upon himself to get the puck out of the defensive zone. His impact upon the game occurs at both ends of the ice as an offensive and defensive force. 6. C | 5'11" | 181 lbs Shoots | Right Born | 2001-07-07 Draft | 2019 Round 7 #215 Overall by Vancouver Canucks An under-the-radar prospect, Arvid Costmar is a skilled forward whose best attribute is his vision in the offensive zone. He has a knack for finding open areas, opening up the ice for himself and his teammates. -- Canucks Army Center Arvid Costmar led Sweden in scoring and had the best performance in the tournament (u-18 5 Nations) among the Swedish forwards. He was the driving force behind Sweden’s offense all tournament. He played the game at a solid pace and has a knack for getting himself open is prime scoring spots. When he gets passes in a scoring position he wastes no time. When he shoots he gets really low and hammers a low one-time snap shot. He posted seven points including four goals. -- Draft Prospects Hockey
  7. The Canucks newest signing from today, an overage defenseman out of Windsor. His offensive numbers aren't dazzling for his age but by all reports he sounds like a mobile player who can move the puck well and you'd have to think there's a lot to his game we don't know about if the Canucks were willing to offer him an ELC. Plus, Windsor hosts the Memorial Cup this season so he'll gain some valuable experience there and we'll all get a chance to see him play which is nice. There should be a lot of competition for spots on defense in Utica next season, as Chatfield will be up against guys like Brisebois, Neill, and Olson who could all potentially turn pro. Smooth skating complements his ability to control the puck at higher speeds. Displays a pretty hard shot and crisp tape-to-tape passing ability, but is actually relied on more in the defensive zone. Battles very hard for puck possession and sees the game in lanes. Very strong positionally and is poised in his own end. As he continues to grow, he will become a more well-rounded defenceman with each game, as he recognizes and learns from his mistakes. Can play long shifts.
