The Alchemist
Then your sentence makes no sence, if you beleive there is no such thing as a clutch player.
Champions of Nothing
I don't believe that there is such a thing as a clutch player, the mainstream sports media does think that clutch players exist.
Hordichuk
so a player who constantly comes through in clutch situations is what exactly?

The Alchemist
Yeah. They are players who have come through in key situations. That is what clutch means. 1 example I can give you of being clutch is David Ortiz (see 2004 post-season). You don't think that when put in a crucial situation that he is more likely to perform than another player who is not as known for perorfming in key situations? Champions of Nothing
I don't think that David Ortiz is more likely to perform better in a key situation than a player who is just as good as him that isn't known for performing in key situations. Also, could you give a few more examples of players that you consider clutch?

CPE
At least you aren't an Eagles fan. What a heart breaking season. 1 more win and they would of been in, they lost so many close ones. Hopefully all these rumors surrounding Mcnabb are bs and the team is back next year. The team is better then 8-8. On another note, San Diego needs to win vs the Raiders if they wanna get the 3rd spot and avoid the dangerous Jaguars.

Iron_Gland
Wow, the Cowboys looked bad. But I'm not too worried. With TO (hopefully) back in some capacity, it'll drive the double team to his side again, leaving Witten, Terry Glenn, Crayton and any screen passes on single coverage. Also with Terrence Newman rested and Anthony Henry finally healthy, we'll have our top 2 CB's starting together for the first time all season. Can't come soon enough since Jacques Reeves is such a ????ty cornerback. I doubt Jason Garrett wants to run too many of his plays before the playoffs either. I mean we ran like maybe 1 screen pass and 2 slant plays...those two have been our bread and butter this year. Biggest question is still Roy Williams. After being an all-star all these years and the face of the Cowboys D, he's done terrible in coverage this year. Not sure what it is with him, but he's no longer making clutch interceptions or tackles, he takes the wrong angles on RB's too often, and plain looks lost out there. Luckily Hamlin on the other side is doing great, or we'd be in deep trouble in the secondary. Another concern is Witten. The last couple games he hasn't created separation like he's been doing, and he's been dropping passes that have hit his hands. He's a big part of our O, he needs to be at the top of his game. Romo I'm not worried about, Barber will have 2 weeks of rest before hammering down the next D-line, and hopefully TO will be able to run routes.
