CJ should be in camp. Period. The titans reworked his contract after 2 seasons last year when they had to obligation to. They gave him the most money they could under the old CBA rules as a sign of good faith. They give him the money, he doesn't hold out and they agree to work on a long term solution AFTER the new CBA is agreed upon. All certainly reasonable on the titans end. Chris Johnson has maintained that he would like to be one of the highest paid players in the league regardless of position which in itself, is completely retarded. You dont give running backs contract like that, they are essentially the easiest position to fill, and have the shortest life span of all positions. Making him the highest paid RB is definitely what he has earned, but if thats not enough for CJ I would love to see them let him sit for the entire year. As a titan fan we do not want the team to buckle and cave to his demands, it sets us up for other players doing it in the future, and just sends out a bad vibe in general.

The team has also offered to let him come to camp and NOT participate in any drills or actual practice while his deal gets worked out to prevent injury. He has absolutely no excuse not to be in camp learning the new coaches offense. He's being incredibly selfish, and proving that he is not the "team player" he claims to be.

I agree with your assessment VanCityTitan.

he needs to put the team first and let the contract fall into place, they do need him if they intend on being a above average club this year, and Munchak is well respected so I think they have a decent team if injuries are minimal.

the defensive line worries me a bit though.

I really wanted the Titans to sign Charles Johnson this year to shore up the DE's, but when I found out Jerry Gray planed on moving Jason Jones out to DE on 1st, and 2nd downs it made much more sense why they just went DT in the draft and free agency. Morgan/Jones/Hayes/Ball/Ford should rotate in and out at DE, while Smith/Klug/Jurrell Casey/Haye/Clayton will handle inside with JJ coming in on 3rd and long. We got much bigger up front, which is something I liked a lot this off season. In years past the Titans Dline has been small one gap penetrators with small edge rusher in the 9. It was effective so long as everyone was healthy, but as you saw last year after starting 5-2 our D-line got hit by the injury bug and everything fell apart. Though this transition in schemes will probably take more then one year, I like the change and I think it will be more beneficial to the Titans, and in turn us fans! Were you able to watch the game last night vancanfan???

Yeah its awesome to see that there are some more Titan fans around here haha I have only ever met only 2 before. I think Britts hamstring is still hurting him a bit so they are just easing him in. I have no argument there I would sit him till he felt 100%..the last thing we need is that injury lingering into the season. I liked how Jared Cook and Lavelle Hawkins played. Both made some nice athletic grabs. Cook could be a big time sleeper for fantasy leagues with Beck at QB. Javon Ringer also looked good in his limited action, did he seem to be a bit faster then he was last year, or is it just me? lol
