Playstation 3 Thread

The PS3 slim is coming this fall.

They had no choice to slash 100 bucks off the PS3. It's getting to the point where people can't afford it, which hurts Sony and the game companies making PS3 games. If they're not buying the PS3, they're not buying their games so game companies, like activision, are threatening Sony that they will stop producing PS3 games to save money.

PS3 slim? What? Source? If they were releasing one this fall it would have been announced at E3.

I tried to get through Killzone 1 so that I could start the Killzone 2 campaign, but it is the biggest piece of sh!t ever. I decided that I would beat Bioshock instead ... I want to rent it though, and I was just wondering if it is beatable in one rental period?

Exactly...game companies were threatening Sony that they will stop producing PS3 games because they weren't making any money because people aren't buying PS3's. Out of this, Sony has no choice to slash the price.

Where did this 45% come from?

Link?

You don't know how much profit is coming from sony.

Activision is PC XBOX PS3.. I'm more than sure that 45% DOES NOT come from PS3..

At least 60% from PC gaming, then 30% Xbox

Then 10% PS3.

45% .. there is NO WAY.

Actually, in worldwide revenue for some companies (such as EA and Ubisoft) the PS3 brings in more revenue then any other console. The reason for this is Europe, where the PS3 sells more software and the games are more expensive.

Example, in Fiscal Q1 2009 for EA, the PS3 brought in more revenue then even the PC

Activision's threat to drop the price is total crap and he is just blowing smoke. Dropping PS3/PSP support would hurt Activision more then it would hurt Sony anyway.

But either way, Sony is going to announce a global release date at TGS for GT5 to coincide with a price cut, likely leading to the top selling game this holiday.

I'm just trying to say PS3 does not have most of the sales.

There are 3 consoles(you could say)

PS3

XBOX 360

PC Gaming

If ps3 had 45% of the sales, you're pretty much saying Xbox and PC get 27.5% of the sales each.

That does not make sense. especially since PS3 has sold the least amount of consoles(not looking at monthly sales, but looking at the sales since launch)

Pretty crazy how when you look at those numbers the PS3 actually comes out to 45% of the revenue between the PS3/360/PC...exactly what the other poster probably just pulled out of his arse.
