Gnickers87
IGN gives MGS4 a 10/10 (to my surprise actually) http://ps3.ign.com/articles/881/881472p1.html Closing Comments Is it possible to give a game an 11? If so, this would be the game that would merit that score. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a title that exceeds all of the hype that was attached to the title. Regardless of whether you've seen every trailer and screenshot, read every preview and heard every interview, you won't get a full sense of how phenomenal this title is unless you sit down and experience it for yourself. Legends die hard and deserve a heroic story that lives on when they are gone. Metal Gear Solid 4 is such an ending for the legendary warrior Solid Snake. Not only does it sum up the full franchise of Metal Gear, its depth and its complexity, coupled with its technical prowess, make it one of the best games of the year and, indeed, one of the best games ever made. Get some well earned rest, Snake. You've earned it. We salute you.
DollarAndADream
I wonder what score Gamespot will give it, seeming as they are pretty biased towards PS3 games. Besides multi-platform, which GTA got a 10. Ive already played about 2 hours of MGS4, and I cant get my hands off of it.
Kassian #9
I got the bundle today I am having trouble creating a PSN ID though... When it asks for my email adress I type that in along with a Password but it says that they don't match... WTF does that mean and does anyone know how I can fix this issue? The Alchemist
So I bought Metal Gear Solid 4 today, I've only played the first one and that was way back. Can anyone tell me anything important that I should know before playing this one? Would be appreciated.
Kassian #9
So the 80 GB PS3's are really only 74 GB? Thats what it says on my System Settings when I check. Is the PS3 software really 10GB worth of hard drive space? MGS4 is only 4 GB yet I only have 60gb worth of memory left.

LickTheEnvelope
Yes to all of those. Advertised space does not equal usable space.. it's a question of the way they count it all up.
DollarAndADream
I don't read Gamespot a whole lot, but from what I've seen, they're more partial to whoever the hell gives them ad money. As for the IGN review, I know MGS4 is a GREAT game, but there have been an awful lot of ten out of tens being thrown around lately. Sure, some of the games are deserving of it, but I can't help but feel that despite their pros outweighing their cons by a huge margin, MGS4, along with recent 10/10 games such as GTA4, Bioshock, Halo 3, Super Mario Galaxy are yes, great, excellent games, and worthy of a purchase, but not perfect. With MGS4, anyone who buys the game that isn't already an MGS fan will not be able to comprehend the story, likely skip the cutscenes, and miss out on the story, which is a huge part of what sets the Metal Gear franchise apart from others. I have yet to play the game, of course, so feel free to take my opinion with a grain of salt, but part of the reason I haven't rushed out and bought a PS3 and Metal Gear Solid 4, besides the price, is because I have yet to play the first three in the series. Without that knowledge of the story, I would not be getting the most out of the game. Once I pick up the MGS Essentials Collection though, that might change. Duodenum
I had to force myself to stop playing, im at the beginning of act II. This game is so epic Playing all of the MGS games makes this game so much better. (especially the flashback thingies) If you haven't played all the MGS games, just read this: http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mgs4-need-to-know/855739/ It's an overview of important characters and a few concepts. You still won't be able to recognize certain things and flashbacks but its a start, MGS has always been very deep.
